Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Wii almost at 74M - Will it hit 82M by end of year?

I hope for them. They got a bunch of good games coming on... Can't wait for DK

If it tops 81M it will have topped GBA!

Easily. I'd say closer to 84M myself.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Yes it will pass 82 Million for sure I predict that the Wii will cross 85 Million by the end of 2010.

That means 11.3 Million from now until the end of 2010.(This is with no Pricecut)

17 weeks left for 2010 so that means about 665K a week on average.

Also it sucks that December 25th is the last sales week in 2010 because the next one ends January 1st so it doesn't count with the predictions...it should be 18 weeks.

No price cut? so if it does have a price cut it could be little higher I presume. Not sure about 85M sell-through but shipments it will be close to that figure.  It's a bum that December doesn't include 32 days rather than 31 for it to include all the 18 full weeks.

I predict that this Holiday won't be down much from last Holiday and maybe even a little bit higher.

Unquestionably :)

I think Wii sales this holiday will also be a bit higher

Considering that 12 million units were moved in the same timeframe last year, I think 82 million is a no-brainer. There are many strong titles being released this holiday season for the Wii including Wii Party, Kirby, Donkey Kong, FlingSmash, Epic Mickey, Goldeneye, and Just Dance 2. That's a huge difference from last year which only had Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros.

A more interesting question would be: will Wii reach 100M by the end of next year?
