Dead Space Extraction

I thought rail shooters are considered "casual"?

Not when it comes to the Wii and to prove a certain point. But ok, let me rephrase it though - "mature" games

So, you agree that mature games are casual games? And that hardcore shooters are immature

IMO what determines "casualness" is gameplay, not game subject matter.. so "mature" games could be casual or hardcore. I would agree though that most so called "mature" games are aimed at immature people

An average Wii consumer is not very forgiving. when a product is bad or the customer feels shafted, the trust for the company diminishes and it reflects on the sales. Nintendo knows this more than any other developer.

The backfire is what any company fears the most. I hope EA has good damage control

Very true, I have a list of companies from which I don't give aditional oportunities, at the top are Ubisoft and EA. What I do its that the games from this companies, unless they are great games (like No More Heroes 2), I just wait till the game has come down in price before buying it, and I never purchase not so great games from them or give the oportunity to small games, but I usually do it for another small (and not so small) companies efforts and pay full price, like Sega games, Xseed Games, Atlus and others, because I know they will use my money to start new good efforts in the console, not use it to finance HD games (like Ubisoft) or complain that the games don't sale (like EA).

Strangely enough, this is a pretty good summary of the situation.

So where are the on-line reviews for NBA Jam? (or even commercials or on-line banner advertisements?)  I can't seem to find even one.  If you weren't following it closely, there's no way you'd know it was being released in less than 24 hours. Surely the reviews are not embargoed, since that usually just happens on crappy games.  It's supposedly pretty good according to those who have got hands-on with it (and Nintendo Power gave it a 9.0).  So why would EA be holding back on getting the info out there?  I really am starting to believe that they don't WANT anybody to buy the Wii version.  Maybe they're waiting til the other versions come out to publicize it.  I guess we'll know in a few months when we see how they treat the second release on the other consoles.

There are only 2 at the moment:

Nintendo Power 9.0

Joystick 8.0

I think that Jam will get good sales, but right now, even though i would love to get it, i wil get it in the coming months.

I've been sort of vaguely following this game, and I still had no idea that the release date was today.  For some reason I thought it was coming later in the holiday season.
