Dude, don't risk getting fired over stuff like this.  You've commented often here about working at GS (you're a manager too IIRC) and gave insight into things going on in the stores in your general area (midwest too, iirc).  That's good enough for most of us.

As for stopping preorders for the regular version, isn't there a natural cut off for day one preorders anyway that we should be getting fairly close to?

I highly doubt we will run out of regular editions, I think we'll be plenty good on that but we were warned from corportate to let people know to be on the safe side.  They said demand is massive.

Personally I think people will be fine on pre-ordering regular edition, but like I said any console / special edition is 100% sold out and anyone who thinks they're getting this game on launch day by just rolling up to Gamestop without a pre-order doesn't have a chance.

Haha come Tuesday the 14th in the afternoon we are gonna hear the screams of a million angry gamers that they can't buy Halo Reach until its back in stock.


like I said on your wall we were literally turning away pre-orders for the game from our store today and people couldn't believe it.  They thought we were being jerks or something but we literally can't take pre-orders on those three versions.  Everyone knows how much we as a company HATE turning away pre-orders since it boosts our numbers and performance.

To put that into perspective we never sold out of any version of Halo 3 or MW2 in pre-orders.  

At the stores you work at did you have roughly more or less pre-orders for MW2 (360 version) then Halo Reach?

MUCH more than MW2.

Put it this way, SC2 was a huge game and at the MIDNIGHT launch of SC2 we had way more Reach pre-orders than Starcraft 2 did on its launch night.

Obviously my store isnt a reflection of the entire company but after seeing what I saw today there is no longer a doubt in my mind we are about to see a new record on first week sales for a single platform.

Wow!  Halo: Reach sales are going to be HUGE!!  Unfortuately I don't usually pre-order games.  I don't know why I just always assume that with a game like Reach there will be plenty of copies at the store when it's released.  I hope that's the case cause I have a $50 credit (if I remember correctly) at my local GameStop and I plan on using that toward the purchase of Halo: Reach.
