Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Many Types of Gamers: Which Are You?

I'm definitely an all arounder and I barely fit in to the classic gamer category.  I started gaming in the late 80's to early 90's.

I'm a collector : I buy way more games that I can play... I need to have the best of them in my collection... steam is a blessing for that too.

so really, i'm a collector/all rounder/ 8-16bit nostalgic  and will buy any nintendo console....

i'm kinda like you buy not only for Nintendo consoles, i buy all of them, i don't know i feel guilt if i didn't have the chance to play a console or handheld.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

I'm a classic gamer.

If I weren't, I'd have a Daniel Craig avatar.

What a bullshit list of gamer types. I especially like this statement: "Then there are the RTS competitive gamers. This has always been a smaller scene until SC became immensely popular overseas. Lately, this gamer has slowly been dying but with the release of SCII, new life has been pumped into the category."

The one who wrote it has obviously never been to Korea.

And I love how the part about the classic gamer basically said "thank you for supporting the industry when it was new, since you are hooked for life anyway now, we don't give a crap about you"

This is the only true gamer type list. I'm sure everyone can recognise themselves in one or several of the types here:

I LOVE ICELAND!

Fanboy to the hilt (never bought non-Nintendo platform, doubt i ever will), but an all-arounder beyond that, as i'll dabble in a little bit of everything, with the only genre entirely absent from my repetoire being RTS.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The all rounder?

Mostly classic, I hate bad games, I also like to buy them when they are well debugged, so games that aged well and became classics are for me the safest choice. I do exceptions when I'm quite sure I won't be disappointed, but I never buy 1st day for the bug issue. BTW, liking to play every bit of a good game, even this somehow limited choice is more than enough to fill my spare time, actually I have quite a big backlog.

Well I am an all rounder but i still love my nes and adore my sega mega drive! I grew up with these systems and i can still sit and play for hours with my mega drive. Also i play most fps games on pc, i can't switch to consoles on fps games it feels weird to me.

So i must fit in the nostalgia guys too
