You can get off your soapbox anytime you want. A lot of those users make good points. The only reason people liek yourself want to "justify" it is because youve always paid for LIVE, the people who are complaining are finally sick of paying for something that a lot of other gamers get for free and this is just a slap in the face. Its not monetary, its principle for a lot of people.
Shit like this just pisses me off. I know $10 isn't a lot but this is just a sign of greed, there's no real reason for the increase besides trying to squeeze out more profit. And people defending MS by saying this is just to counter inflation are kind of sad really, why are you defending a company that nickle and dimes you every way possible after makin a console with a 50% failure rate?
Sony on the other hand haven't made a fucking dime this gen but PSN has remained free. How do you explain that MS? Yeah they missed a great opportunity to make money by making online free, but at least they kept their promises and made Playstation plus optional.

All companies try to get out as much money as they can but there are ways to get that money. M$ is just being much more greedy.

Why do they add worthless stuff in the first place? I use my gaming consoles for GAMES. I don't care about ESPN or whatever on my X360. If they want to charge us for that, at least they should have a different subscription or make ONLINE FREE. I don't need that worthless stuff.

Sony doesn't provide dedicated servers as part of PSN/PSN Plus either. It's the developer's decision to include those. XBL can support dedicated servers all the same (and some games do already).
And when XBL launched back in 2001 it didn't have any of these great features for the same $50 price...
Once PSN Plus starts actually offering new services and not just a discount (like Hulu Plus, cross game chat, twitter, facebook, Netflix without a disc, ESPN, etc) I'm sure we will see a price increase there as well.
