well you never knwo PS3 may catch it because it has alot of games that appeal to gamers. The wii has a lot of crap plus a few casual games peopel buy in BILLIONS and Nintendo games that people buy n ZILLIONS.

On the other hang the less quality PS3 games got their own smaller audiences.

However, If ubisoft were to relase 18more Just Dance games I don't think PS3 will catch up.

I think you misread Seece, the argument was PS3's top 10 software will be lucky to reach HALF of Wii Sports lifetime, I predict Wii sports will be lucky to hit 100 million LTD so in other words PS3's top 10 software has to do 50 million, and since I made this thread 4 month ago, PS3 software is probably over 50 million by now, I'll check.

Edit: Yup, PS3's top 10 software totals 53.76 million as of right now, so Jarrod was wrong.

Just because you predict Wii Sports will stop at 100 million doesn't mean it's fact Gilgamesh. It's currently around 9 mill below total Wii HW

Wii isn't gonna stop selling at 100 mill, and before this holiday I might have though Wii was slowing down, but Wii is capable of having an even BIGGER holiday than this year nad last year when it hit's $99. Wii is still trending way above PS2, and even though I don't think it'll match PS2, it won't fall 10's of millions short. So a reasonable estimate for Wii would be at least 130 million HW by end of it's life.

Shave off 15 for the HW not sold with WS and you get around 115 million for WS, 57 mill need for PS3 top ten. It will likely do it thanks to all the COD's out there.

But winning a bet or such over Jarrod is nothing to shout home out, he makes less reasonable predictions than you do.

Edit - but yeah somehow I misread, PS3 will obviously have done over half Wii Sports lifetime.

Also by the way I said Wii Sports will do 100 million not the Wii, I see the Wii being close to 120 million by the end of the gen. Minus 15 - 20 million from Japan and Korea and you got my Wii sports number, 100 million.

Wii has sold 80 million and has roughly 1/10th of that without Wii sports. Why would another 40 mill Wii's not amount to another 10 mill off?

Again, it is foolish to underestimate Wii sales after this holiday. Next year it'll get a price cut, year after it'll have bunldes like this year, year after it'll be $99. It's gonna do no less than 130 mill, that is probably conservative.

I'd wait to judge the Wii sales after NPD, seems suspicious that it's all of sudden doubling X360 sales in America when the X360 has been outselling the Wii for quite some time, I dunno seems odd how it sold just fair all year then all of sudden the Holidays hit and it's back to selling a billion consoles a week with really no system sellers but a red Wii?

I'd agree but there is more to it this week, shortages lowerd 360 sales, and $50 wal mart deal highered Wii sales. If it wasn't for those two factors, they'd be within 150k.

Seems unlikely, just looking at the "Almost 1 million" games.

Wii has 117 games that have sold 900,000K or more.

PS3 has 90.

The Wii seems to have a lot more "eeking" games in the short term.... and I feel like that'd probably continue in the long term too...

Can't underestimate Wii games legs.

It will just be a matter of PS3 catching up, year by year, but then falling even further behind then they started come X-mas.

Yes the PS3 is full of momentum and will out pace the Wii on cranking out million unit selling games.  So yes, its only a matter of time.
