The buttons for the moves have to be within reach however.

It'd be better to go with a control scheme like this:

A = Punch
B = Kick
C+A = Strong Punch
C+B = Strong Kick
Z+A = Weak Punch
Z+B = Weak Kick

This way you have all your punches and kicks without having to adjust your hand's position or reach too far.

That's actually surprisingly good.  I wouldn't want to attempt a shoryuken with an analog stick though.

That would be the point of allowing classic controller support though.

This game would be terrible on the wiimote. Even if they implemented a system for it would just suck. And if you do release it for the wii, people are going to default play it with the wiimote and get a shitty experience. Most people will not buy the classic controller, because its an optional peripheral. Look at wii zapper vs re:UC. its no where close to 1:1. That why I really believe if nintendo wants this game on the wii, it should pack it with the classic controller. I think that would boost sales, and it would show nintendo is not afraid to do 3rd party support at all.  Lord knows they have the money for it.

Of course, which they should absolutely do if they bring this game to the Wii.  But I don't see that happening, even if the Wii is capable of running it.

New screens, and they don't look as good as that first one, imo:

Ken just looks...weird.

Also, what happened to the cool paint effects!?!

^That's TOTALLY Wii-doable. But I still stand after my controller issue.

PS: Yeah, I totally forgot about SF3 in the animation department. I was actually thinking about the Street Fighter Zeros.

I agree. I think it's definitely possible on the Wii. The backgounds have a very low poly count, and even the main characters aren't very detailed. They have nothing on the Tekken 6, VF5, or even DoA 4 character models.

Of course, this game isn't very far along in development. Uncharted didn't look so hot when they first showed gameplay either, but it ended up exceeding the target render.

this game wil mos. def. come out on the Wii. If MH3 is any indication, Capcom definitely has love for the Wii. Didn't their shares shoot straight up after announcing MH3 for Wii???

If my instincts about these screenshots are correct, they're using some complicated shaders to get the look just right, like somebody actually painted these images.  The complexity as well as the art style lend themselves toward lower poly scenes aside from the main characters, which should be the focal point anyway (you don't want a lot of distracting visual noise on the screen).  It should look absolutely breathtaking in motion.
