Looking at gamerankings.com - it appears I am out to touch on a lot of the "top" games out there.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time is listed as #1 - I bought an N64 years after it came out at a pawn shop and bought this game, I didn't get into it at all, I blame the controller, I didn't like any N64 games

Played and bought SMG1, didn't buy nor had any inclination to buy SMG2 (which is 3rd on the list)

Bought GTA4 - didn't finish

Never played Soulcaliber

Played and bought and beat U2

Bought Metroid Prime, never beat - though it was a fun game

Never played Tekken 3

Bought Orange box - loved Portal :)

Never played RE2

Well, thats the "top 10" anyhow - bought 6 of those games, only finished 1 of them (2 if you count portal)

What about the rest of you, how do you compare with gamerankings all time top 10 rated?

Metacritic is a joke. don't trust it too much.

I've played them all apart from Uncharted 2 and GTA4 and I didn't like their predecessors

looks like you bought or played most of that list, so what is your point? You think you missed them because you didn't like them? Why did you make a thread about this anyway?

I've come to realize that I like many games that have a (relatively) low metacritic score (50-80); and many games over 90 I don't like at all.

But sometimes I use metacritic to search for games I might have overlooked.

You've not really missed them just not enjoyed them. I'm pretty similar as a lot of those games would be no where near my top ten.
