Forums - Sales Discussion - Ubisoft employee: Red Steel 2 has sold 270,000 worldwide

They should remake it for MOVE since all you have to do is switch a little things up

I remember reading somewhere that it will remain a Wii-exclusive, no matter what, I'm afraid

OT: 270,000 isn't really that bad for this game which is great for me. I believe their target for the game was to reach 500,000 sales, so with a price cut and the Holidays coming, I can see it reaching that easily

I enjoyed more Red Steel 1 than Red Steel 2.

Red Steel 2 feels too much like a First Person Brawler than a shooter.

And of course that I'm spoiled by Red Steel 1 because it was my first pointer control FPS. My first experience with next gen gameplay for a FPS.

Yeah I liked Red Steel 1 better too.  Towards the end the fighting got a bit hard though on 1.

yer I didnt like the idea of RS2 going cartoon (i still got the game) but I preferred the first one even with all the bugs.

i'm waiting for it to hit 10£.... almost there it's at 13£.

I want to buy the game but for weeks ive been looking for it and they always say its sold out i could order of the internet but i dont trust royal mail so ill buy it when i find it.

I think sales will boost up like the first one did at one point it was selling a few hundred copies a week but then suddenly it turned into thousands.

Give the game 2 years and i think and hope well be suprised. Ubisoft said they were happy with the sales anyway!

the conduit sold more than Red Steel 2 and that got worse reviews than Red Steel 2. Plus Red Steel 1 sold over a million so its low sales are surprising but it's reviews were not brilliant only 80 metascore.

Developers make a product, it doesn't sell well, and they blame consumers.

Only in the video game industry....

And people wonder why the industry is constantly told to "grow up." The only ones to blame for the poor sales of RS2 are the developers themselves in misunderstanding what type of product to put out. And I don't just mean "le casualz games!" To me, the game was a one-trick pony, and it was meh after a while.

Hey Blue. Look at me talking to you FROM THE PAST! Aren't I cool like that?

...

No?

Oh, well boo to you too.
