So, why do you blame the religion instead of the extremist groups that is responsable?

they are individuals or groups that take action to make a political gain at no matter the cost. and we all know politics fix nothing. the only thing politics can do is make and create laws, and declare war.

And get in the way of prosperity

sorry had to add this

They are a theocracy their religion is what they base their government on
Because they hide within the peaceful people its their MO

They were Muslims who brought down the towers. The terrorists brought down them so people would remember.

They wanted to shake people to the bone and they succeeded. They went after other monuments well known.  Why do I have to explain why people are offended

I think you know why

You should know by now they are not true Muslims.

I call them people with a distorted agenda from the ideals of Islam, this is coming from a muslim.

I couldn't fucking believe when I heard they want to put a mosque 2 blocks from the WTC site, that is extremely disrespectful in my opinion. Now I know it was the "extremist" Muslims that attacked the WTC and not the "everyday" Muslims but still. Like out of all the places to put a mosque they have to do it so close to ground zero which people of their religion attacked. I don't know how anybody could support this.

If this mosque is allowes to be built, and people in america are tolerant of it, do you have any idea how much that would undermine the terrorists' propaganda if it got out to the masses of moderate muslims?

I LOVE ICELAND!

any one question his religion now?

No, he's Christian. He's also American and a President who must uphold our Constitution. There is absolutely no reason to not allow that Mosque to be built.

so far as I know, there is nothing to stop them doing this.

did I read correctly somewhere that some guy wants to build a Gay Bar next to it btw? if so, good on him

Freedom of religion.

Private property.

Honestly, who gives a fuck?

Who cares if the majority of the American people othink it's offensive?  The majority of American people claim that naked girls are offensive, but they ALL browse internet porn.  The majority of American people have claimed that oral sex should be illegal, even between married couples.  The majority of American people have claimed that whites and blacks shouldn't marry each other, because God wouldn't like it.  The majority of American people have claimed that black people should have separate drinking fountains.  The majority of American people have supported slavery and forcing natives to learn English and forget their native languages.

But in this case, like many others, the majority is simply WRONG.  This is private property, and it's not the government's job to say "Hey, we know this is private property, and we have freedom of religion, but Fox News says you guys are terrorists, so go build your terrorist headquarters a few blocks further away from this spot.  We're busy not building a memorial here for 9 years."

I'm glad we have a president smart enough to see beyond the religion.  In his statement last night, he didn't once refer to the terrorists as Muslims.  He referred to them as NIHILISTS.  That was fucking awesome.  The people who blame Islam for 9/11 are probably the same people who think Saddam Hussein planned it, and that the plane was full of Iraqi terrorists.

They still build churches in Europe after the Crusades and the Inquisition.  Don't you think that's a little disrespectful?  After any religion fucks up, we should stop them from spreading.  At this point we should have no religions but Buddhism, which probably isn't even a religion.

Churches are everywhere I see no differance if a mosque is allowed to build anywhere.

Lets reverse it and see what it looks like (Note my opinion is probably extreme and i never wish for this to happen)

Christians build a church over the holocaust site, is it wrong?

Of course its not in America, but you get my point.

Plus Terrorist didn't destroy the WTC...

(My opinion)

Also i heard that the mosque isn't even on ground zero, but 2 blocks away. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

There's nothing to stop them, but when they say the purpose of the center is to build bridges between Islam and the rest of America and most people are opposed to them building at that location, they would do well to reconsider.

And yeah, Greg Gutfeld is apparently going to try and build a gay bar next door in an effort to build some bridges of his own. The Cordoba House's response was something hilariously ironic like, "You're free to open whatever you like. If you won't consider the sensibilities of Muslims, you're not going to build dialogue."

meh, I just like the idea of a Gay Bar being next to a Mosque...

heck, if I had the money I would build an Abortion Clinic next to a Church...
