Yeah, I probably made this thread, pushing my zombie idea already, but whatever. This forum is dry right now.
Remember guys simplicity is a virtue. If it's overly complex, it's a bad idea. Forget about the story (I'm looking at you, JRPG fans) only the gameplay mechanics.
Zombie Trail
Using the game mechanics of Oregon Trail, you create a zombie survival game. You travel alone or with a group of people through the ruins and wilderness of the USA, in order to reach a military base that houses the last survivors of North America. On the way you meet other survivors and adopt them (but you want to make sure they're not infected), and you'll lose people on the way. You can try to forage malls and gunshops, haggle with others. You can encounter slums and fortresses that are composed of people who made their own settlement (sorta like Indians). Instead of hunting, you'll sometimes be forced to do a rail shooter mini game where if you fail you may get somebody infected, or yourself even.
Pretty much it's Oregon Trail, but with zombies. So that's why it's simple (using an already succesful formula) and I think fun (in a cool context).
Now who wants to be a Banker?
