Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your console progression this Gen?

By that i mean... What console(s) did you start out with, and what do you have now? And what do you currently use the most?

Im curious to see any crossover between Wii and HD...

I started out with a Wii and now own a Wii and  PS3. I play the PS3 most out of the two now, although i still use the VC on the Wii a fair bit. Aside from consoles, i have been PC gaming regularly right through the Gen - overall more time then I have spent on consoles.

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

I first bought a Wii and then a PS3. I'm playing my PS3 more since it's also backward compatible and I still like playing PS2 games.

I bought a Wii first (not for me, but for my girlfriend). I loved it and played it a lot. Then I bought a PS3. Didn't like it at all. Then I bought a 360 and sold my PS3 shortly after.

I love my Wii and 360 equally, although my PC remains supreme!

Started out with a Wii in late 2006, then got a 360 in 2007, and finally in late 2008, I finally had enough money for a PS3.

Bought a Wii, then 360 and finally PS3. Nowadays, I go back to play the Wii more.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

1. Wii (launch)

2. Xbox 360 (end of December 2006)

3. PS3 (November 2007)

I mainly play games and watch Netflix on my Xbox 360, my PS3 gets used for movies, and my Wii...it sits quietly in the corner on my entertainment center.

(I have no idea when I bought my DS)

-edit-

Oh, I'm probably building a PC next week, mainly for FFXIV.

DS (2005), then Xbox 360 (2007), then Wii (2007), then PS3 (2008), then PSP (2009).

Now, I have five DS's (one pink Lite, one broken white Lite, and three Phats), on my second 360 60gb (sold the first after it died), one Wii, one Phat 80gb PS3 with backwards compatability, and two PSP's (one pink 3000 and one black 3000).  I am so glad this gen is lasting so long!  I can't afford to start from scratch!!

The PSP is my portable of choice and the 360 is my most played console.

December 2005 - PSP

(June 2006 - New PC)

December 2007 - X360

June 2009 - PS3

(June 2010 - New PC)

I will probably buy Wii later this year or early next year or I buy 3DS instead. I play PS3 and X360 equally. I have not played PSP in long time but that's gonna change with valkyria 2. PC gets most of my play time.

DS in November 04, Wii two years later.

DS had the advantage in overall playtime until about April 2007, when Wii games started rolling in in greater numbers.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I started with PC and PS2 split 90% PC and 10% PS2.

I then got a PS3, mainly as replacement for PS2 (thanks to getting the partial BC UK launch model) and for BR but also with the premise of getting latest versions of the titles my kids liked (who were the main PS2 users).

I then got a Wii because I wanted to check it out and my wifey wanted one.

I'd say right now my time is roughly split PC (still got it obviously) 35%, PS3 50% and Wii 15%.

So to my surprise I'm playing more on console than PC these days.

360 never quite landed right for me, for those no doubt interested, as early on I was focused on PC and played Halo, etc. plus wanted Bioshock, Gears, etc. on PC so there was little to draw me to the console early on.

By the time I was interested there was RROD which did put me off, plus by then 90% of the libraries were the same and I found I was more drawn to the PS3 exclusives than 360s, particularly The Last Guardian and early on stuff like LBP and Uncharted.

But, with Kinect and the new model I'm interested again.  So who knows what Christmas might bring... besides, I could buy it for the kids...

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
