Forums - Gaming Discussion - Square Enix needs to get their shit together....

whatever happened to the days where SE actually made good AAA games...  the only thing SE looks like they can do correctly now are rehashes from their glory days... :(

Their best game this gen was Chaos Rings.... for the iPhone.... strange but true and it worked for me.. it gave me hope that they still have some of that magic..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

It's not only Square Enix. I'm looking at you Atlus.

at least persona 4 was good.  but when someone says ur iphone game is better than the game u poured four years of development time into, u know u gotta do some major re-evaluatin...

the rehashes aren't even 'their' games. its all squaresoft games that rocked.

S-E still makes awesome games, you're just not looking in the right direction.

DQIX is probably one of the best JRPG's this gen (granted, it was co-developed with Level 5's help). Also, FF:CC was pretty good as well. They also have 3rd Birthday coming, and it's looking better and better each time new gameplay videos arise.

And we have KH:BBS coming in the next months, which by a lot of previews, it's looking to be at least on par with the original KH's quality in all aspects.

So yeah, S-E still does good things, maybe not as frequent and high quality as they did in the past (especially when Square and Enix were separate companies), but they are working hard on making good games.

Excuse me?

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

The majority of their best content was delivered on handhelds. Not surprisingly - the mjaority of people ripping int SE love to ignore or dismiss handheld gaming.

*cough* capcom

Eidos is S-E's saving grace.  Arkham Asylum is the only AAA title from the publisher.

Then again, a publisher shouldn't be judged by its metacritic score but rather its memorable titles.  Outside of FFXIII and a few fan favorites like The Last Remnant and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, I doubt that Square has any.

Pixel Art can be fun.
