Forums - General Discussion - War on Iran is inevitable?

"I would say the jews are a 100 times worse to palestinian people than anything they claim the Germans did to them."

You are an idiot and should open a history book.

I really think that the US is afraid to attack Iran, so war is not inevitable.

im not really into all this politics/war business, but surely ww1 and ww2 are perfect examples of why any type of war is just not sensible?

WWII is a perfect examples of why any type of war is not sensible.  That I'd agree with.

Hopefully you can agree with me, that if certain countries would have stepped up quickly to put a stop to Hitler, WWII would have been avoided.  Instead they gave in to the lunatic at every turn while he was amassing a major army and marching on weaker countries.  Although they're certainly not the same situation, there are many parallels between Hitler, Saddam (even though, as we now see, was in a very weakened state of power), and Ahmadinejad (even though he's mostly just a figurehead).

I certainly don't ever want to see another war, but sometimes they're the lesser evil to what might lay in the future.

@misteromarmk4: stop that antisimitc hatred right now. Living in Switzerland and knowing a lot about the Nazis, I can't stand discrimination of Jews in any context. Sure what they are doing in Israel is not right, but you can't compare that to the things that the Nazis did, never.

And that you bring this topic up in a thread about Iran which has absolutely nothing to do with Israel shows me how deep your hatred sits, and that scares me really.

@sqrl: I really like you as a poster on these boards, but our political opinions seem to be quite different. For me it is absolutely clear that the reason why Bush is interested in a war on Iran is power in the area, it's the same reason he started a war against Iraq. Calling european politicians spineless because they are against wars is an insult in my opinion. Of course the middle east countries are in a bad state, but the example of Iraq should show everybody that you can't force countries to democracy, they have to achieve that themselves. If you do it otherwise, the danger of radical groups taking the power again is very high because democratic systems need to be stable to be safe, Nazi Germany says hello here.

"History is written by the victors."

Partly true but sometimes history is just simple . WWII was the fight of good against evil. Period.

The good side may have been tainted in some areas and some good people may have fought for the bad side (my grandparents for example). But in the end the forces of good prevailed against the forces of evil. I think this is what makes the US different from Europe. They have seen that there are situations where you can only save the world with the sword. They were the victors in a war where people had no alternative to fight and the enemy was a monster (not the individuals but the whole organisation that did the bidding of a monstrous leader) that had to be stopped by force.
We have seen how you can make the world (or at least our continent) better by talking and negotiation.

Both approaches are correct in different situations.

Right back at you. To start the jews have hijacked the holocaust as a jewish experience, when in truth they where the minority of people that suffered from the nazi's, more slav's, gypies and russian people where killed. (over 20 million russians) yet the jews have successfully hijacked it for their own financial gain. The whole world has been conditioned to associate the "holocaust" with jews.

The palestinian people have suffered for 50 years not 5 years like the jews. There are so many reports of atrocities committed by the jews that make nazi's look like boy scouts. Pregnant woman trying to get to hospital to give birth died on the side of the road because the jews would not let her pass. (Palestinians must pass jew military checks points many times a day to get work or school, which takes hours and they are terrorised and abused by jew soldiers at will) There was a jew soldier of some rank, who shot a 8yo little girl 32 times. He first shot her and then walk up and then emptied his machine gun into the little girls body. This is, what is happening on a daily basis, its exactly like living in concentration camp. Yet its their land but the uk and american government gave it to the jews after ww2. (mainly because one else wanted them) Why not america give them a country out of their land.

If the Nazis had won the war, they would be the one who were good and the rest were evil. That's the way the world works.

misteromar mk4 seems to be bathing in ignorance.

We will not invade Iran. Our struggles in Iraq just proved we cannot fight this kind of war alone. The War in Iraq is not a "typical" war, thus why there is such a lack of overall improvement and so many casualties. When the enemy doesnt care about who he kills, you cannot fight that. A suicide bomber, a car or truck bomb or a roadside bomb cannot be defended against. They go after soldiers and civilians. We will not win this war but we cant exactly just leave right now either or Iraq will turn into a bloodbath and civil war.

Iran and the US have had terrible relations for decades. Not to mention they are countering our very efforts in Iraq. They are waiting for us to leave to spread their influence over the country and expand their idealism. They are a threat to the free world, but it is not the US' job to hault their ambitions. The UN or NATO should, but all the UN seems to do is sit back and wait. Not to mention nothing will ever be done with the veto power from Russia in the Security Counsel.

Im not supporting Bush. I did, but Iraq and the many scandals that his administration faced is too much for any person to actively support. For all of you members outside of the US saying "zomg why did you vote for an idiot like bush?!" He did a good job his first term. Do you all remember Afghanistan? The country where we did get it right? Oh yea they dont put stories with happy endings on the news.

BTW if you are just saying "Bush is an idiot" back it up. Dont just go along with the general consensus, form your own opinion.
