You just don't see that different people value different things. Some might deem a product almost priceless and to some the same product is worthless. That's how it goes. You should not get insulted if people hold different values than you.

but the point is it WILL NEVER reach that price point brand new. So they may as well say they will never get it.

Well they would, IF it would reach that pricepoint. But this thread was about how much would HD-only owners pay for Wii, not that will they ever get a Wii.

I guess it's the same reason why I haven't jumped into the PS3 yet!!! Between the Wii and X360 there isn't any exclusives left on the PS3 that would interest me on investing such $$ on this kind of economy!

2nd hand, after the next gen starts, maybe. And only if I can get all the Zelda games, nothing else really interests me. Now that we have HD motion control gaming with all the Wii clone party games that come with it, there's even less reason to buy a Wii than there was before.

Much more likely to get a used 360s after next gen starts for the likes of Mass Effect, Alan Wake and a few other non-shooter 360 exclusives...and Kinect. Won't be paying for XBL though, so no XBLA games for me I'm afraid.

games don't have to appeal to core gamers to be core games

 

they just need to stick to the traditional statues of gaming to be core
