Aren't you from the UK?

didnt we clear that up yesterday?

And ain't the UK part of Europe (it's an island but it's still part of the European continent)?

Do not listen to him he does not know what he is talking about. The UK is very obvioulsy nothing to do with Europe and we are a continent in our own right (We have 4.5 countries in the UK continent, if you include Cornwall).

Sheesh, glad I nipped that one early.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

If Zelda was made to run with ordinary controllers I'd buy a Wii at $149. Also if Kirby and Donky kong was for regular controller that would strengthen my incentive.

But as I understand it Zelda, DKC and Kireby require motion controls? I feel motion controls are sloppy. I want to play classical games with classical controlls.

You could just buy the GCN version of Twilight Princess and play it on your Wii if you want classic controls.  Personally, the improved aiming for distance weapons makes the waggle swordplay (which is slightly annoying, but not really a big issue) worth it imo.  Lack of camera control wasn't really an issue either, EAD has some of the best autocams of any dev.

DKC and Kirby use motion 'shakes' for singular actions, like NSMB or Wario Land.... they're all playable using the Wiimote NES style afaik, which is about as classic as it gets honestly.

all other genre 'imo' gets better games on the HD twins so nope

I think you can make a strong case for action/adventure/RPGs on Wii.  MH3, Twilight Princess, Okami, Cave Story, Muramasa, Rune Factory, Super Paper Mario, Fragile Dreams, etc.  Plus there's a mountain of great stuff on the Virtual Console too (Zelda 1-3/OOT/MM, Neutopia 1-2, Ys Books I&II, Beyond Oasis, Monster World 1-3, LandStalker, etc).  And coming up we still have games like Skyward Sword, La Mulana and Earth Seeker.  It's pretty easily my favorite genre, and one that been progressively dying since the 16bit era imo, so Wii's been a nice refresher comparatively.

I'm not saying it doesn't HAVE games that are good for other genre, but in comparison (mainly due to lack of 3rd party support I think) it's lagging behind the competition now 'imo'....may it be FPS, TPS, Action/adventure, RPG, Strategy, Racing, Hack/slash etc, they all have atleast one good game on the wii for sure, but not as many compared to HD twins 'as of now'..and there are several games that was on the wii that was non-platformers and which were exclusive at one point going multi plat...like NBA Jam or Dead Space (which ps3 owners actually get for free now)

If Sony paid me $50, I'd steal a PS3. <3

and then sell it?

It's not theft if it's a gift.  And no, I'd save it for The Last Guardian. <3

so 50$ so you can pre order the last guardian and a ps3. sony are generous.

i want gifts :(

Yeah, it'd be nice. :/

Honestly though, the real reason I don't have a PS3 is time.  Most of the games I want are also on my 360 anyway, so it gets hard to justify the additional investment (both money and time) for just the handful of exclusives I'd be into (Valkyria, 3DGH, Yakuza 3/4, Last Guardian, Demon's Souls, Ninokuni).

Between Tactics Ogre and the flood of Ys games though, I may just have to bite on a PSP.  Those are basically killer apps for me.

What? How? ;P

It's not the price point that prevents me from picking one up, I'm simply just not interested in what the console offers.

It would be really stupid if the Wii's price is what's stopping HD-only gamers from buying it.

its stopping me! id buy the wii if its 100$. its 350 in my country.

It's almost as much where I live come to think of it.

thats why i cant have two consoles.  the ps3 and 360 are at the price they launched at. but the wii is 100 dollars more expensive then launch price. also games here range from 70 till 100$. and games never get price cuts.

and macs are 3k here!

It;s the exact thing over here man. We Europeans always get the shaft when it comes to pricing.

I think most price difference come from the fact that in almost every country except the US prices include taxes already. VAT or otherwise. In the US most states have a sales tax, but it varies so it is not inlcuded in price. If you really feel your games are priced to high, vote to lower taxes in your country. You get the benifits of more government services but you have to pay for them still. bSorry sometime the amricans get things so cheap  gets to me. Its really not the case when you look at what is being paid for sometimes.

with vat a game should be 70$ a ps3 and 360 should be about 350, and a wii should be about 230 but theyr not.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Oh, I'm not saying you are.  I'm saying in this specific genre, Wii also comes out ahead imo.  PS3 does decently with the From Soft exclusives (Demon's Souls, 3DGH), then there's Nier on both systems, and Infinite Undiscovery on 360, the always great SotN on XBLA and PSClassics, but otherwise the HD twins are pretty dry.  I wish Falcom would start porting their titles to PSN/XBLA. :/
