Forums - Gaming Discussion - At what price would HD-only owners pick up a Wii?

For the tech it's offering, the Wii could probably be sold for less than £100 and still make money.  This will happen at some point, and when it does I could see many core gamers who currently dismiss the console picking one up because, for all the naysaying, it does offer some excellent, exclusive, core games (just this year you could include Sin and Punishment, MH3, SMG2 and potentially Metroid, Epic Mickey and DKC).

It would be really stupid if the Wii's price is what's stopping HD-only gamers from buying it.

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

its stopping me! id buy the wii if its 100$. its 350 in my country.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Probably £100 ($157), that sounds like the right amount

I'd buy it if it was $50.  There are sweet games, but I'm really just not interested in it.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

$50, I sold mine for $200. The hardware's not the problem, the software is just way to expensive and no Wii game is worth the full price their charging for it (In Australia). I might just wait until Nintendo release their next console, buy a Wii and mod it or something.

Overall, I'm really not that interested.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

For me, it's not a matter of price but a matter of time. I just don't have enough free time to support another console.

I might buy a modded wii for 100£.

Some of these answers are very pathetic. $50 lol.

Also, are you on drugs Doobie? Games on Wii are better prices  compared to the other two platforms is Aus.  Super Mario Galaxy 2 Launched at $69AUD at k-mart for the first week.

If you really wanted a Wii you would of modded it already like you said. Considering all you need is a soft mod on the older Wii models.

lets look at other Games in AUD

Red Steel 2 $49

Cursed Mountain $29

No more Heroes 2 is $79

COD: WaW $59

COD: MW Reflex $59

etc. etc...

Wii has a lot of bargains out there, you just have to buy at the right time and look around the different stores.  EB GAMES, and GAME don't discount unless they have a sale on.

What is so pathetic about the price someone would be willing to pay for a console?
