Mario Party 3DS?

As long as we don't get a Wii party title pretty much every year, I'm fine with that

"All the lead staff" is a bit of a misnomer, it's just two project leads that left Hudson for NdCube.  It's like saying "all the lead staff" left Capcom's Zelda team for EAD, when it was really just the director of Minish Cap.

The OP's source is also wrong about the long uncredited Mario Party series co-developer, it's actually a company called CAProduction, which Hudson helped form in the early 1990s from former Tecnosoft staff (of Thunderforce series fame).  They made 'hardcore' action and shooting games like Hagane and Gates of Thunder before starting on the original Mario Party.  They've co-developed every game in the series with Hudson except Mario Party Advance (which was co-developed with a now defunct company called Amble) and they're continuing that relationship with the Deca Sports series now.  Monegi was just a paper company/PR stunt afaik.

Yes, I'm mad sad that Mario Party is dead but MPDS has given me so many hours of joy that I can't let the series go...

I already knew Mario Party was done for when they announced WIi party.  I mean the Series has lost momentum ever since the first, it has limited audiences because of it's theme, and they previously released too many versions too quickly (except on the wii, I'm actually considering buying MP8 since I know there won't be another one next week)

I see this as a good thing, miyamoto said mario needs to be in less games and I agree with him.  The Wii series allows for anyone to enjoy because it's virtual avatars you make based on yourself.  No theme that will appeal to specific fans.  I hope Mario Sports mix is the last Mario game we see in which it's not a platformer or RPG.

I used to be a big fan of Mario Party and the 1st 3 were great...4 and 5 were good...6 and 7sucked...and 8 was better than 6 and 7 but only ok. Since Wii Party isn't out yet in America I can't make a full opinion of it yet but from what I hear and see from videos...

Wii Party>Mario Party so I am fine with Mario Party being dead.
