It has been confirmed today that Nintendo are no longer planning to hold a press conference at the upcoming Gamescom convention, which is starting on the 18th of August in Cologne. This means that there will be no new announcements made from the company at the event, but they will still have a presence with a booth on the show floor, which is more than can be said for Capcom and SEGA, who both pulled out of the event outright earlier this year.
Microsoft have announced that they are finalising their plans for the convention, with no conference announced, though one is highly expected. Sony have the most concrete plans of the big three, with a pre-show conference of the 17th which is pegged to focus on the new Move technology by many commentators. There is also WILD SPECULATION AND RUMOR that a touchscreen follow up to the PSP may be announced, especially after Sony used last year's conference to unveil the PS3 Slim.
