My list of games for you to get is similar to others
Lost Odyssey- plays like a traditonal final fantasy title with turn based gameplay, likeable characters, engaging story that touches on emotional themes like family, death, and the lonliness and sadness that occurs from being immortal
Tales of Vesperia- deep action based gameplay, likeable characters, good story
Mass Effect 1 and 2- shooter rpg hybrid gameplay, amazing story with many memorable moments that stay with you long after you finish the game, characters that are so believeable that you forget its a game
Alan Wake- amazing story that plays out like you are watching a good tv series it makes you want to keep playing until you get to the end, good gameplay and presentation
Crackdown- mindless fun its addictive to collect orbs to make your character super strong and able to leap across tall buildings
Ninja Gaiden 2- tough and more challenging than the ps3 version of the game. It also includes more gore which comes closer to Itagakis vision of the game more so than the ps3 version.
Infinite Undiscovery- you are either going to love the game or hate it so you should probably rent it first. I loved the action based gameplay, variety of memorable characters, easy to understand story, how the main character matures throughout the game
Splinter Cell Conviction- I haven't played it but most people who have seem to say it's a good action title
XBLA
Shadow Complex- think of it as a cross between castlevania and metroid
Perfect Dark- If you didn't play it to death on the n64 it's a good shooter
Soul Calibur- If you like fighting games and the Soul Calibur series you can play the original in hd
Limbo- people seem to have a lot of praise for this title but I haven't played it yet
