Here it is

I don't know where to find the report of Sony about the quarter but here I found this

They shipped 2.4 million this quarter, up 1.1 million from the same quarter last year - huge jump

http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/data/bizdataps3_sale_e.html

They shipped 38.1 PS3's as of today

VGChartz Hardware data for the period 12th Sep 1999 to 03rd Jul 2010:

Console PS3
Total
35,793,963

2,306,037 PS3s on shelves ?

2m in channel doesn't sound far fetched, especially since PS3's no longer supply constrained.

bullshit ps3 is definetly in need of adjustment if 360 was less than a mil behind shipments i would say ps3 would be around the same probably a million undertracked considering there only selling 120k a week 2.3 mil on shelves would take like 4 months at that rate to sell out and i doubt they overshipped that much at all and wow at ps2

Isn't shipments = sales as justification for adjustment arguments grounds for a ban these days?

360 is badly supply constrained in most regions at the moment, old stock is drying up and the S models sell out within hours of hitting shelves.  360 now is where PS3 was nine months ago supply wise.  PS3 stock is now plentiful though...

did you not read my post im not stupid i was saying again the ps3 should be adjusteed by about a million and there wold still be a gap of 1.3 million between ship vs sold and that number is alot more reasonable face it ps3 is undertracked sony dont lie

Undertracked where?  VGC's close enough to NPD and the JP trackers that we know it's not in those regions.  Did PS3 sell an extra million in Europe, and whoops, no one noticed?

I read your post.  Your first word said it all.   2m in channel is not at all unreasonable.

See Capcom's results guys?

1.5m for Lost Planet 2 (combined PS3 / X360)

1.8m for Monster Hunter 3 ltd (was 1.15m through March 2010)

well i think it is others would be very hard to track as its the rest of the damn world so that could be 600k undertraced partly due to undertracking from last quater and this one  and npd just does what vgc does educated guessing there numbers could be a bit of for all you know end of disscusion 2.3 in the quiestest part of the year is a lot

Nintendo had a big loss this quarter due to what looks like some kind of massive expensive in foreign markets...3DS development? Can't imagine what else is 70 billion Yen when they had lower foreign losses before...

What's 70 billion Yen in US?

Jacob, am I reading yoru correct that they are posting an $800 million loss?

Don't forget that they just purchased land and began development on that massive new research and development complex in Kyoto.   But I can't imagine that costing more than $100 million itself.

So it's either the development on the Wii2, the 3DS or the worlds most high tech balance board.

So I just converted the Yen and it's $797,684,436 American dollars. That's pretty crazy. How much did the Wii originally cost to develop? or even the first DS? It'd be cool to compare them.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

A couple of notes

- 2.4 million PS3's in the channel does sound a bit excessive considering it was supply constrained not too long ago, remember earlier this year? VGChartz is in line with all other reliable tracking services though.

- Monster Hunter Tri has done better than I thought it would in the west

- Nintendo posted a loss!?! Shit must be going down, massive expenses in foreign markets is probably due to currency fluctuations, 3DS R&D and perhaps opening new studios? I'm hoping for new studios anyway :P
