Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Arc Rise Fantasia, Worst VO Ever!

May I bring up "If you are looking for Daigo and Mine they are on the ruff." and "If I knew it would have come to this, I would have killed you when first we met." from Yakuza 3?

O_O And I thought this would be one of the best Wii games ever. Sadly, only this voice acting screws with everything. Better keep it on mute...

I can't stop lol at the part where he was all like "that e-silly!" then "help me!" followed by random singing hahahaha.

Honestly, most of the stuff before wasn't anything much worse than I've seen in other RPGs. Trust me, I've seen plenty of niche RPGs where the voice acting is really no better.

But the part you mentioned there really is bad. Not the singing part, but how the voice actors for the guy in black and the guy in blue delivered their lines. That's Resident Evil 2 bad.

I know there has been some terrible ones but this game is actually higher quality than most JRPGs this gen and the VO just plain destroys it lol, I'm like wtf?!!!??!

The VO isn't totally flat in the lines before it, as a lot of you claim. And just because it's this gen doesn't mean it's anything new. Heck, there are even parts of RPGs this gen where the VO is said with as little conviction.

Again, I'm just referring to the lines before the last part, and that last part really is bad. It's like in "The Spoony Experiment" when he reviewed the first issue of the "Warrior" comic, and they were in an alternate universe where they couldn't act. Only that was a lot funnier.

I think they should just be smart and have dual audio or no english dub at all since JRPGs are niche these days besides the FF name imo, really not that hard to do.

I think pretty much any V.O in english is bad. It actually is a pretty decent JRPG (34hrs in atm). I have been having Pandora Radio on and just reading text.

Got the game yesterday and I disagree, there're a bunch of titles with a worst VO; for example Haze, Alpha Protocol, Resident Evil 1 (Ps1), House of the Dead 2 and 3 (well these are actually funny), every Dynasty Warrior game released in America, Castle of Shikigami (this's worse because it got bad voices and nonsensical story) and my personal favorite Rouge Warrior.

I'm a good way's into the game right now. Honestly, the VO, while pretty bad for the most part, isn't all around bad. A few characters sound decent. One of the characters, Niko, has one of the worst VA's in the game but its also pretty funny. Some other characters are like that.

Luckily, the game is pretty fun so I'm not having much of a problem playing through it. Sat through worse voice acting.

Hope some of you guys don't misunderstand me as saying like "don't buy this game!" or something lol, this is an excellent JRPG in my book, if you ignore the VO, the music is actually very good, especially the Boss ones, and story, although predictable, is still entertaining. Really hoping some nice group would do a ISO repack and get the game in JP VO lol, it's really good in JP VO. I've even had preview tutorials on battle systems since last year on youtube and spent a lot of time building weapons etc.

It was really just a hammer on my head when I heard the VO in English lol.

the vid is basically how almost every localized RPG turns out, nothing really stood out as the "worst ever" for me TBH.

We should put some pressure on RSG forcing them to release it with Japanese voices! C'mon, join me!
