I still got the game as it looks like a well made JRPG.  Man, we're spoiled now a days' I used to remember playing FF:III (FFVI) and just enjoying the beautiful MIDI's and reading the script with IMAGINATION to use what their voice would be!!!

i would take that over lazy people just doing it for the money on voice overs

Haha, there's a reason why gamers are trying to get Rising Star Games to ditch the English voices and keep the Japanese voices in Europe.

ya my roomate is playing this, and while the game does look cool I cringe when I hear the voices.

I think the voice acting with those two characters are horrible. I am not too far in the game, but the others aren't as bad. The girl is really awful.

so... there's no option to turn them off?  =S

I think Niko is the worst by far, he sounds like a bad Jerry Seinfeld impression.  You can get used to the voice acting to the most part but the lack of feeling actually does hurt some scenes in the game.

...

I can't stop lol at the part where he was all like "that e-silly!" then "help me!" followed by random singing hahahaha.

Honestly, most of the stuff before wasn't anything much worse than I've seen in other RPGs. Trust me, I've seen plenty of niche RPGs where the voice acting is really no better.

But the part you mentioned there really is bad. Not the singing part, but how the voice actors for the guy in black and the guy in blue delivered their lines. That's Resident Evil 2 bad.

I know there has been some terrible ones but this game is actually higher quality than most JRPGs this gen and the VO just plain destroys it lol, I'm like wtf?!!!??!

The VO isn't totally flat in the lines before it, as a lot of you claim. And just because it's this gen doesn't mean it's anything new. Heck, there are even parts of RPGs this gen where the VO is said with as little conviction.

Again, I'm just referring to the lines before the last part, and that last part really is bad. It's like in "The Spoony Experiment" when he reviewed the first issue of the "Warrior" comic, and they were in an alternate universe where they couldn't act. Only that was a lot funnier.
