Can anyone enlighten me why Wolverine has red eyes now, or is that just part of his costume?

It seems to be part of the suit. As his red eyes started in X-Force: Sex and Violence #1. I guess the artists just wanted Wolverine to look more sinister. Than again if you are reading the new Wolverine saga the red eyes might play in to that. Can't say anymore without spoiling the story.
This weeks reading list:
Batman #703
Batman and Robin #14
Batman Odessey #3
Amazing Spider-Man #641 (Conclusion to One Moment in Time)
Amazing Spider-Man #642
Daken: Dark Wolverine #1
Daredevil #510
Shadowland: Blood on the Streets #2
X-Force: Sex and Violence #3 (Conclusion)
X-Men: Curse of the Mutants #3

any solid reccomendations for vertigo trades? I already have fables, transmetropolitan, and watchmen but I like what I've read so far. I'll eventuallty get sandman so that one is a given. |
if you're looking for strictly Vertigo books, I'd recommend:
Sandman
Death
Y: The Last Man
Preacher
A History of Violence
Watchmen
V for Vendetta
Swamp Thing (alan moore run)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
The Fountain
Fables
I have read, but many friends recommend 100 Bullets, Transmetropolitan, and We3

Absolutely loved it, its certainly up there with Watchmen and V for Vendetta as a showcase that comic books cen be a very nuanced, advanced artistic medium. |
I had Maus in my hand at Books a Million a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't find anything traditional that interested me so I picked that one. Foor the life of me, I couldn't remember why I felt compelled to buy this book (answer: this thread). I was waiting in line to buy it but the black and white arr turned me off and I left it there. Now, I want to buy it!!
If I had a super power...
One of the coolest sounds EVER is the back pickup of a Strat.

I could certrainly understand why the black and white art could turn a person off. But it really is worth a read, afterall it did win the politzer prize.
I went back and grabbed Maus, yesterday. There was another book beside it called Maus II. Is the one I got going to be able to stand alone or was the single story broken up into two volumes (like Hush or Knightfall)? I'm kind of hoping Maus II is just a sequel and not a necessity. I'm probably not that lucky, though.
--I tend to read comics when I'm at work (which means I'm doing absolutely nothing. I need to start taking some online college courses or something). I'll be training this week with firearms, tactical courses, etc. So I won't actually start reading Maus I until Saturday. I'm expecting big things.
A Moment in Time was quite good but the two following issues of Amazing have sucked balls.
I still have three issues to read of Brightest Day. Hopefully they won't make my brain hurt from lameness.
Overall, I'm really enjoying what's happening in the Batman universe.
And I'm starting up my own comic book in a few weeks. That will be a lot of fun. It's been a few months of pretty intense work getting my art back up to speed and developing back stories.
