Forums - Nintendo Discussion - First 5 minutes of Goldeneye Wii

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_yhlHOzp78&feature=player_embedded - Hyperlinked because I don't know to work Youtube videos on this forum.

Obvious spoiler-warning, but this gives a good idea of how the gameplay in Goldeneye Wii's single-player campaign will work. It seems to taken quite a few pages out of Modern Warfare's book, with things like aiming down the sight, stealth sections, first-person cinematics, and a few quick-time events.

Honestly, I don't think it looks too bad. It's at least shaping up to be a competent FPS (although it doesn't show how smart or dumb the A.I. is). Personally, I'm hoping there's some gameplay elements not shown that help make it stand out more from other shooters. Going on a few undercover missions and experimenting with some spy toys would be great (exploding pen, anyone?). I'll reserve judgment for now, but it looks like the gameplay will at least be at the current benchmark.

That still doesn't help me figure out how the embedding on here works (Quoting did nothing). :(

Is it ?

looks cool, but its not by Rare/EA so its not going to be very good.

offtopic : i really dislike how sniper rifles became one hit kill in games now everyone use them in online

Nope. Hit the little 'HTML' button in the reply box and paste in the embed code. The hard part is spotting that tiny blue HTML

First thought on the video: How does that presenter manage to sound so much like he's reading off a prompter while shifting his eyes around like he isn't reading at all?

Second thought: I'm really sick of overproduced briefing animations in films and video games these days

On to the game itself: Gameplay looks great. Good mix of stealth and action while throwing lots of twists to the gameplay. And only the first level! The framerate seemed disappointingly low, though. Maybe that's just Youtube.

That looked good I thought, fast pacing for a first stage, lots of explosions. Visually the first area looked bland, but it got better as it progressed. Some of the effects like the rain drops on the hood of the car I thought actually looked nice. Obviously the voice acting is good, even if it isn't Broson, I think Craig will be good. I'd say this video just bumped this game up to a definite buy for me when it comes out.

Looks very good to me. Not a FPS fan, but it's Bond, so...

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Also, it most certainly does not look like a PS2 game. Compared to Black on the PS2, the polygon count is higher, and the texturing is greater.

I'm more annoyed 006 isn't modeled after Sean Bean. Where there legal issues similar to why they couldn't use Brosnan?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
