I'm saying they probably don't intend to issue a Kinect forecast - but if they do it will probably end up dead on or miles out. Any of the three outcomes will be amusing.

Three? It's amusing to you if they don't issue a forecast?

Yep.

Like I said on the first page, they haven't issued Xbox forecasts in years - makes predicting X360 stuff a bit difficult. Sony and Nintendo both issue forecasts, so yeah, I do find it funny that they don't bother. Even if they predict a value for hw lower than the other two they have nothing to be ashamed - they're still very much a viable player in the west.

$15.3 billion is less than Apple's $15.7 billion.

revenue is expected to be less.... profit is where its at...

Yeah but profits tend to go into shareholders pocket. There's not a practical difference between Apple's $3.5 billion in profits versus MS' estimated $5 billion.

They both have the same resources to spend on reaserch and development measured as a percentage óf that huge revenue. So in practice Apple is just as strong as Microsoft now.

It's all about that XB Live!!! They could drop all the other crap in the E&D, but as long as they have XB Live they will always smile, lol

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

Not really - they're doing well - EDD made $981m profit in the year ending March 2010 on very healthy revenues. I'd just like to see in writing what they expect Kinect to do in the fiscal year so we can know if they're forecast / expectations end up being wildly optimistic, realistic, or pessimistic compared to the results. With the bundles its going to be in millions of households, the question is how many millions. But they're probably not going to issue a forecast.

Is that for the "new" reorgianized entertainment division? But how much of thatr profit is from other things than Xbox?

Thanks @kowen
