Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii Party is Awesome!

10 million is much too low of a prediaction.

The game's called Wii Party, for crying out loud.  I say it will sell 20 million.

Ya. 10M for each word.

It could easily do 30M if it's called New Wii Party.

I think the word "Party" will hurt the game, because it was abused by third partys so much. So 10M for Wii and minus 5M for Party. Makes only 5M sales.
You can already see the effect, if you compare the few numbers we have. Both are first week of Japan:

Mario Party 8: 282,003

Wii Party: 239,963

I'm getting interested in this now, I'm also guessing about 12m sales

the wii has too many party games, i would like a new ip!(which isnt a party game) the game will sell around 16 million even more it depends how sell it sells during the holiday.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Nintendo has had quite a few new IPs this gen that aren't party games, it's just that they are not that big and don't usually receive too much attention

Nintendo has only released 1 other party game this gen as far as I can tell. Mario Party 8 in 2007, we will have had 3 CoDs in the time it takes to release Nintendo's second party game.

The "Wii  ......" games are not party games. Everyone lumps them together as 'casual, mini, party games' but they really aren't. The clue to what type of games they are is in the title. Wii Play is a series of familair arcade games. Duck Hunt and Tanks aren't party games.

Hide and hunt/hide the thimble is a party game.

2 is greater than 4. Since the 2 are "party" games. It means many people in 1 room. Yeah, something like that.
