Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 Having A Better 2010 Than 360 And Wii

Halfway through 2010 and it looks as the PS3 is going to have a good year, at least compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii.

With the latest sales figures for June having come in, it’s possible to take a look at how all three home consoles are doing against each other and themselves year-on-year. And the results show a clear pattern emerging.

VGChartz has the sales figures for the first six months of every year from 2007 onwards. The overall figures show the PS3 on the rise, the Xbox 360 staying very consistent, and the Wii peaking but still holding steady.

The most relevant figures are the comparison between 2009 and 2010. The PS3 has sold 1,411,479 units more this year than last; the Wii has sold 233,740 units more this year than last; and the Xbox 360 has sold 29,417 units less this year than last.

Total sales for the year to date are 7,670,727 for the Wii, 5,051,839 for the PS3, and 3,868,774 for the Xbox 360. Whether the second half of the year will follow the same path as the first remains to be seen.

I see the PS3 having a pretty similar second half as last year it will lose a bit for September sales but will make it up after with its heavy hittin exclusive releases like GT5, Socom 4, LBP2, and Move

Congrats to Sony indeed. They could definitely take the lead in Hd console battle at the beginning of next year, especially if MS continues to fumble with kiddie 150$ eyetoy ripoffs instead of bringing new exclusive IPs for their customers (which are NOT looking like the 5 year old little girl of their E3 conference).

but that's exactly what they are trying to attract with that game.. Little girls and boys and possibly pedos to invite those little kids over to play.. Don't hate on M$ trying to appeal to a different crowd... ¬_¬

lol yeah, the pattern is 360/Wii > PS3 ... or did I read NPD wrong ...

In fact in last 44 NPD's 360 has won 36.

Actually Wii >>>>>>>>>> PS3 > X360

why the sudden change from them? you can say the same for sony and the move but theres some pretty good core games releasing for it this year and a few patches for past titles
