I bought it with my Gamecube back in 2002. I got it because I needed another game beside Animal Crossing and Mario Sunshine and wanted something darker. I really liked the name and the cover so I got it instead of Resident Evil 0. I know that's a pretty pathetic reason but I was in the army at the time and didn't have regular internet access so I had no knowledge of any Gamecube games beside Animal Crossing and Mario. I played through it and no I don't really see why people consider it so great. The story was stupid, the combat was lame, the levels were way too linear, and the puzzles were too easy.

Thanks for saying that! So many people would write in who didn't like it and just say "I didn't like it" and that's it. It is cool that you gave the "why."

Yeah one reason I picked it up was because of the Darker theme. I also had, had some poor experiences with Resident Evil's that is one reson why I never considered buying a Resident Evil game until RE4 came along.

But we differ on our enjoyment of the game, obviously.

What are your favorite games buy the way?

Out of the last 2 generations (in no particular order) anything with the Legend of Zelda, Civilization IV, KotOR 1&2, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing:WW, Advance Wars, Halo, Call of Duty 1&4, Metroid Prime 1&3, MLB Power Pros, RE4, Z&W, Burnout, the Europa Univeralis series.

How do you like Call of Duty 4? I want it. Their are a lot of games on your list that I wanted to play but never bought. Zelda's and the MP's most definitely. Also do you like Fire Emblem? From that game it has inspired me to want to try the RTS games like Civil. IV but I haven't worked up the nerve I bet there are a ton of rules.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.  I'm not the biggest FPS fan but I really like it.  The single player is short and has a few problems in my opinion but the multiplayer is great (I have the PC version).  I never played Fire Emblem.  For whatever reason I'm not a big fan of fantasy or strategy RPG's.  Don't really know why, they just never clicked for me.  Civilization IV is a turned base 4X game, it's not an RTS.

I was wondering if the on line was good. People (who aren't Game Reviewer) who I know have said the the game was brilliant but short. However they never play on line, so thanks for your comment.

OK what is a TB4X. I personally love Fire Emblem but to each there own we all have things that we don't prefer. Like for instance I like the idea of Resident Evil 4, I've played it and I can see why it is great but I didn't like the idea of shooting women in the head. It creeped me out. Now I know that in CD4 I will be killing better animated and detailed male characters but I think that I will be OK with it as long as it's not women.

I need to go threw the game again and get all three endings.Im a new fan of HP Lovecraft and the game just drips with his style I love it.

played it about 1/4th of the way 3 weeks ago and then stopped.
The dialogue in the game is briljant but the gameplay was not enough to uphold the game imo and I stopped when I played as Karim.
