Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Animal Crossing 3DS: You're the Mayor!

http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=129887

• In Animal Crossing, players move out on their own to live a life of ease in a village of walking, talking animals. But this time around, unexpected circumstances suddenly put the player in the role of Mayor in a town they’ve only just arrived in. With the help of the many unique townsfolk and one eager secretary, players will enjoy making their new town a better place for all to live in.

Sounds like Nintendo learned the lesson from City Folk, and are focusing on expanding the franchise again. Though it was more essential this time, as this game couldn't also be a virtual clone of Wild World, given Wild World was the DS installment.

As the Mayor, I want the ability to lock Tom Nook up. It'd also be brilliant to have some control over town remodelling, but perhaps I've just been spoiled by ACToolkit.

Sweet!  Being the Major sound like it could be fun.  On the other hand, I might not do such a great job as major and crime in the town may run rapid.

Lock him up? Im taxing him to death. lol I want that sweet sweet nook bells.

Can someone explain to me what this means? My understanding of Animal Crossing is "The Sims: Furry Edition." I am uncertain how this would change the basic game. I trust there are some difference I don't know about.

Mayhap this now means its more like "Sim City: Furry Edition." Involving more resource and development side, but obviously still focused on the micro rather than the macro, otherwise it just becomes a resource-driven game.

Perhaps this will be more like SimCity: Furry edition. We'll get to micromanage stuff like Pete's pay and Kapp'n's booze allowance, while building a sweet monorail system.

EDIT: CURSE YOU MR. KHAN

Sounds like a good shakeup to the game, I'm glad to hear it because the short video and impressions made it seem like just the same game again. I wonder what happens to the Turtle that he can't be Mayor anymore?

5 million seller in japan alone!

But great news, I played the DS version a lot, but skipped the wii game. Guess it's time to return to the village!

Lol, and I miss Tom Nook, that greedy bastard!
