This is the story of ME2: Survive, get x members of your team, hit abandoned Collector ship, hit the mothership. That's it, that's the entire story of ME2. As least DA was: Survive, get elves by killingwerwolves, get dwarves by going in the ass end of death, get mages by doing something way fucked up, get humans by doing the same, kill archedemon. Just a tad more involved there.

ME2 had better char development than DA, but because of it it also has an overall very shitty story.

That was a problem in the PC version of the first Mass Effect - but it was Garrus's face, not his armor. His face texture was extremely low-res no matter how high you turned the texture detail for everything else.

And people just gonna hate. Some people bring in particlar understandings of what constitutes "story" or even "RPG", and do not acnowledge other understandings as valid enough to leave alone.

And the story of "Saving Private Ryan" was:  They saved Private Ryan.

I seem to recall a little story about an "elusive man", Krogan genocide, some guy's father keeping female members of a crew as sex slaves, backstabbing daughters, getting a fish for some guy,  saving kidnapped crew members, etc., etc., etc.  It's not the destination.  It's the journey!

I got Dragon Age already.  I plan to play it today!  I mean it, this time!!  I'm sure it's a great game (though not as good a Mass Effect 2, according to Meta) and I'll definitely enjoy it.  I just think it looks ugly.  That's all.

Um, it does have some piss poor textures and a shit story and it is as dumb as ass. It's still a good game though, which is a tribute to its strength as a shooter. I just can't help feeling it could have been so much better with a bit more freedom, a bit more care taken over the PC UI and graphics and less reliance on cover during firefights. Oh, and no bloody scanning either...

Actually, BioWare outsources their CGI movies to Blur Studios, who was also responsible for Warhammer Online's CGI trailer among others.

Really... well then Blur studios should be put in charge of making the next Star Wars film

They really, really should. And not have Lucas touch the script or directing in any way. XD

Also a few more skills and a few more guns so it doesn't feel like a shitty shooter or a shitty RPG.

I will say that it is a thing of wonder how often these topics turn into topics that are about Mass Effect, instead of whatever games they are actually about like Dragon Age.

Made by the same company. One is awesme, the other is just ok. Would hate to see the awesome one getting turned into the meh one.
