If I recall, Dragon Quest is HUGE in Japan and pretty much guarantees a system's success.

Dragon Quest requires a large, matured user base.  They don't want to release a main series DQ game in the first or second year of a system anymore.  The expectations will be 3-4.5 million, they would like to have at least double that before releasing it. 

I agree with that, but then Wii announce it 2 years (minimum) before showing a single pic? They could just say "we're working on it" or being vague like KH3...

I was beginning to think it wasn't coming to Wii after all, like FFCC:tCB a while back.

I'm still quite baffled by SE decision. Why put DQX on the Wii and then completely ignore it? Every single other (big) game they make is NOT on the system they gave their biggest game to.

I laugh at the people that seriously suggested it jumped ship from Wii. They don't know Yuji Horii very well.

I'm gonna go back and read those wet-dream threads about DQX being moved to PS3.

I'm expecting a release in Q3/4 2011, I think that sounds reasonable assuming they officially announce it with a trailer by the end of the year
