No, if they launched at the same time, the PS3 and 360, the PS3 would be up more than 5.5 million units. That's bigger than the 360's gap right now with a year start. 360 isn't ahead as people think, not if you know how to look at numbers other than total sales. Total sales mean nothing out of context. 360 fanboys throw that out all the time, and I'll just say the PS2 sold more than 3 times than the 360.. Apparently it doesn't matter of the release date, so, I win!

I think that both consoles are doing very well considering how great the Wii is selling. It's much different then last generation. Sony destroyed both Microsoft and Nintendo.  The PS3 is doing the "worst" with more sales than either of its competitors numbers from last gen. We'll see if their new motion gaming will do them any good.

Why would they? Where would this 5.5 million extra come from? effectivly, as many have said, SINCE the PS3 launched, it has only sold an extra 200k more than the X360.

1st since PS3 global launch it has outsold 360 by over 1.5M so you can take that 230k you got somewhere else

2nd the chart will look like this after global vs global launch

3rd if you look at my new # of weeks above chart or even yours you'll see that PS3 is winning or pretty damn close to 360 in all categories thats pretty damn impressive since the PS3 was $500 and $600 for most of 07 (or in your charts case not even available for 5 months in 50% of the world) had minimal SW available for it and also consider 360 as been down to $199 for 2 yrs PS3 hasnt even touched $249 yet

^ Im not going to add gas to this fire, but Global vs Global, atleast when its a numbers game with weeks won etc, seems a tad more fair.
