Ok so as many of you know, the M4 carbine is not present in MW2 and was instead replaced by the M4A1...but on a couple of occasions while playing MW2 I actually picked up the M4 carbine from a dead player and used it...I thought that this gun wasn't present in the game...does anyone know how to unlock it?
They're essentially the same gun. What you picked up was the M4A1.

M4A1 is a Carbine.
The entire M4 nomenclature is a carbine version of the M16 seriers.
I believe the A1 and A2 desigators are for 1 being fully automatic (A-1 MW version), The A2 is what is standard issue in the army, 3 -round burst. I am an officer in the Army and I do not know of any units that are actually issued the Fully Auto version. However, I am sure Special Forces and such have the option to get it (they get pretty much whatever they want)
I am friends with some Rangers, and they were not issued A-1s, I am sure the reason IW choose the A1 was to make it more distict from the M16 A4

They are very similar, but I'm sure what I picked up was the M4...I'm not sure how people get their hands on it

Yes...I am absolutely, 100 percent sure that the text description said M4...when I picked it up, it was the M4 carbine from COD4 in MW2, with the ACOG scope attached to it.
