Wada needs to stop complaining about his own failed decisions, although I agree with him keeping a developmers cultural identity in there game, but I thought that should be obvious for any international publisher.
I get the feeling a lot of Japanese developers are essentially "trying too hard". They waste money and resources trying to give their Japanese games Western appeal that they often leave behind the values and traits that made people buy the games (in all regions) in the first place.
Then there is the whole userbase issue. Surely if they wanted global appeal all games should be comming out on Wii which has a huge market share in all 3 regions. Take JRPGs for instance. A lot have been released on 360 (exclusively or timed exclusive) where JRPGs are unproven and sell relatively poorly. FFXIII still managed to sell more in the West on PS3 even with more 360 consoles and more advertising for the 360 version.
Also, he's completely ignored success stories. Konami with MGS4 & Pro Evo, Capcom with RE4remake & RE5, Polyphony Digital with Gran Turismo products, and of course Nintendo with... pretty much everything Nintendo release.
