Which Resident evil was visually stunning

RE remake 69 29.11%

RE zero 8 3.38%

RE2 13 5.49%

RE3 8 3.38%

RE4 94 39.66%

RE5 45 18.99%

Total:237

REmake for the win.  When this game came out for the Gamecube I remember so many people were excited for it and several of my friends were so upset that it was not for the PS2.  One of the few games that made them green with envy for that little purple lunchbox :)

Remember, magic is just stuff science has not made boring yet.

For their time, I would say 4 > 2 > Remake > rest.

But Revelations may end up taking the crown if that realtime demo was any indication...

I'm highly doubting that was a real time video, since it was a cutscene which was shown, not that it won't look good but I don't think it will look quite that good since that had a lot more going on from a technical level than Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D which was obviously real time since you could control the camera, but in Resident Evil you couldn't, personally from the early 3DS games I feel Metal Gear will be the best looking out of all of them.

Well, Capcom said it was realtime at least.  At worst, I'd expect it was using in-engine assets, the models were blockier than RE4 really.

to me the only logical answer when it comes to graphics, which I assume visually stunning refers to , would be RE5.

Yes the other RE games looked good , and I'm sure they were visually stunning in their time, but the pole is about comparing all RE games to gether and picking which one out of all the RE games was most visually stunning, and the clear games is RE5.

I'm actually surpsied by RE4 being the one that people choose as the most visually stunning, either people have a low visual standard, or they've never seen RE5 running.

Oh you'll see my dear, it's not that people have low visual standard, it's just that they are not comparing like you do; they are comparing the game to what was available when they were released... And the POLL is actually asking with that in mind, considering that the topic creator picked REmake and RE Zero. There were many games that looked on par, even superior to RE5 when it was released... but not those much in RE4's and REmake's era.

Now to answer the original question: My pick is REmake, as it was very VERY stunning back in the day, with it's Motion-JPEGs and highly detailed models.

I think every RE games has lookd very good at their time of release, but REmake to me looked the best when it came out and still looks very good to this day.

Any Resident Evil game since 2002.

Resident Evil 5, never was into the RE's in the past, but I went back and played the PC version of Resident Evil 4 recently and that game look's absolutely horrible, I've played older game's that look much better.

Honestly the Wii and Gamecube versions of Re4 looked much better than the PC or PS2 versions, the special effects are great! But these effects based on the special Wii/Gamecube graphics chip and could not be ported easily to other systems.

This is why this is a good question.  It asks which game was stunning, not which is the best looking game.  Stunning is very much determined by how good the game looks compared to other games at the time of it's release.

If you only played Resident Evil 4 recently or after Resident Evil 5, of course your not going to rate it as stunning but at the time of it's release it certainly was.  I would actually be surprised if anyone who played both games at the time of their respective releases rated Resident Evil 4 lower than Resident Evil 5.  There are a good number of games that look as good as Resident Evil 5, when Resident Evil 4 was released there was nothing in the genre that was even close.
