Sony reminds me of a kid, who's constantly calling other kids names. And when somebody does the same to him, he starts crying.

I love my PS3, but I don't blame you for feeling like this.

I have nothing against the PS3, it's a great console.

It's just ridiculous that Sony, who has arguably bashed the competition more than any other company this gen, now thinks that Nintendo shouldn't be bashing 3D glasses, something Sony has invested a lot of money in.

What does this bashing 3D glasses mean for Nintendos Console future though?

does it imply they believe 3D in the living room is a fad, and they think it will blow over before they bring out their next console?

will their next generation console simply not support 3D in the living room because of the annoying glasses ?

will they develop their own glasses free TV's for their next console ?

will they support 3D with glasses and simply act as if they never said anything ?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

So, Nintendo aren't allowed to big up the USP of their new product? Really?

That's kind of how marketing works though... you figure out what separates your product from everybody elses, and market that like crazy.

It's the same in every industry, so Sony need to get real here.

Okay guys the main reason people dont like wearing 3d galsses is because it makes you look goofy right? Well we all have to admit playing the wii or any motion device makes you look goofy as well. Im just saying if people are willing to use an imaginary steering wheel then they can wear 3d glasses too without a problem.

I can't speak for anyone else's reasons but I already wear glasses. I don't like wearing two pairs or having to choose between seeing clearly or seeing 3D.  If I have to choose between the latter 2, 3D is going to lose out.

same here. I mean, if you ignore a market / userbase as big as all the people wearing glasses, you will NEVER succeed.

I think the 3DS is a great product, but it will hurt 3D.

Sounds stupid? Yes.
Makes sense? Yes.

Once you experienced 3D on a handheld for $200 (just a number here) without wearing glasses, you ask yourself why you have to spent $3000 for TV and you have to wear glasses. I think once you get used to 3D without glasses, there is no way back.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

3D glasses won't move beyond the enthusiast set. At least Nintendo has the opportunity to push 3D into the mainstream which is the important point. People don't like wearing glasses, and they don't understand them. I remember seeing a Panasonic 3D demonstration in a mall a week ago and people were walking away and complaining because the glasses had been turned off. Noone understood that they needed to press the button on the left underside of the glasses.

Yep, I agree with that. Nintendo are the ones to push new technology into the mainstream, Sony is simply not able to do that (and they actually never really were able to do that).

Anyway, it will be nice to see what the people will think when there are the first 3D TVs which don't require glasses.

Yeah, Sony were never able to do that.  Not even with the 3.5" Floppy Discs, Compact-Discs, SPDIF, and Blu-Ray...

Seriously.  That's bad faith and ignorance if I ever saw any.

I exaggerated a bit, I know. Shouldn't have said "never"

I will correct my post above

I wear glasses and was never bothered by the 3D glasses over my normal ones.  All the 3D glasses I used were designed to fit even if you wear your normal pair.  I really wonder if the persons complaining about that "issue" really ever wore 3D glasses.

But, maybe that's just me and I have some special glasses...

Exactly what I was going to post except that you stated it better than I was going to (and with 100% less boob references).

For me its the headaches and the sore eyes i get.  I have no idea how the 3ds will affect me.  I have a feeling that ill be able to cope with it if its just like those cards where you rotate them and get a 3d image.  I can look at them fine without getting sore eyes.  But i cant watch a 3d movie with glasses for more than 5 or 10 mintues without taking off the glasses and rubbing my eyes.

So im definately interested in the 3ds,  Ill have to try it first though.  But i'll never play or watching anything 3d that requires glasses ever again.
