Forums - General Discussion - To People who like Anime

I've started on Dragonball Z of a german channel thanks to cable, wasn't able to understand anything except for NHYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH yet still loved it.

Other notable series which I've seen that were entertaining or atleast not completly shitty:

- Full Metal Alchemist

- Death Note (till the "end of the first arc", the second one was utter shit, sorry no offence "M")

- Samurai Champloo (nice mix of japanese culture, history, inside jokes and story, not so mainstream)

- Berserk (the best anime IMO, only 20 or so episodes, but really worth it, if you have to watch only one, go with this)

I don't recommend you the usual mainstream "13-y boy stuff" like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece, they are insanely long and filled with fillers that make watching these series a real pain. Also they are all very derivative, once you've seen Dragon Ball, you've seen them all.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Well i just started watching dragon ball z episodes again and i have to say they are awesome. They bring back a lot of childhood memories and i just love that world and humor. i also really like the charachters. I also keep up with naruto but it seems to be going on forever especially with some uneccesary fillers. Anyways i want  some advice on what anime to watch next that are similar in humor and style of dragon ball z. I was thinking of watching death note too. I was wondering if the the series has been fully dubbed already or is is it still going on? Any suggestions?

No, Naruto is annoying because they spend 10 episodes doing what should take five minutes in any other TV show.  Dragonball Z is about the same, though to a lesser extend and they just spend the extra time yelling at each other.

Also, let me completely ruin Dragonball Z for you: anytime you watch the show, just close your eyes.  What you hear is the sound of gay sex.

As much as I loved the show in my youth I must agree completely.

Full Metal Alchemist, either ones, I only watched the first one, not the remake. Apparently the latter one follows the manga better(?).

Bleach, It's very DragonBall Z like, in the sense that there is a lot of fights.

Naruto Shippuuden, it's 100x better than Naruto, imo. A lot more feelings, better character developpement and epicness.

DragonBall, it's more about lighthearted adventure, which I much prefer. The humor is priceless and I found the characters better as well. In Z they're quite one dimensional, except for Piccolo. The others don't really evolve, because they've already done that in DB.

Finish Naruto (yes I know theres a million filler episodes) and then watch Naruto Shippuden, awesome anime. I just finished watching Death Note for the first time and it was one of the best animes I watched, so many twists.

I'm recommeding the Naruto manga for those who like the anime. It's awesome, more "accurate". And why not read/watch both... I recommend One Piece the same way.

Death Note and Bleach are on my list, I'll watch it as soon as I have time. I watched all Cardcaptor Sakura when I was younger, I intend to read the manga soon. Too much anime/manga, too little time!

;)

Formação do indíviduo, transformação da sociedade.

I'm not an expert about animes, but about Dragonball, you should read the manga, it's much better, 70% of the anime's lenght is a boring filler.
