After almost 10 weeks of its release in Europe and US we have a better perspective to analyse its performance. In your opinion how did it do? Did it meet expectations?

I think it did better than most expected. It certainly did better than Capcom expected (they said 500k for the fiscal year; which ends come march 31st).

It seems it's developed some steady legs so I can see it crawling to 700k within the fiscal year, which would be an unmatched succes for the series in the west.

Best selling console MH. Yet, I find its legs kinda dissapointing. I expected at least a million in the west, even in the long term...

It did well.

Expecially in Europe because Nintendo marketed the game..

 

Hopefully after holidays million outside Japan..

I don't think many people expected it to do more than 500k in the West lifetime. Those that did weren't expecting much past 1 million.

The series was never this large in the West on the PS2, so it had some leeway/benefit of the doubt. I personally expected 415k by Week 8 and that's pretty much exactly what it did. At this point, it is just legging it out and probably has a decent life ahead of it.

Looking at the game generally, it is near 1.5m, which is the real picture here. It has done well.

Actually, I'm quite impressed..I recall Capcom expecting 500k through the fiscal year and its already damn near there.



Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:


If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

saw source post some deals for buy one get one half off at best buy, get my paycheck tomorrow

might have to finally pick this game up and probably little kings story

hoping i have luck and not the few times went to best buy to get a good game and they don't even supply it.

I expected a little better legs but well, over 400k units in just two months is not bad at all. At this point Monster Hunter Tri is aiming at 700k - 750k lifetime sales units in the west.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite shipped 450k units during its last fiscal year so Monster Hunter Tri is probably already the best selling entry in the west.

Well sales are good and so is reception of the title.  On the Nintendo channel, I think it has a platinum ranking and on average people play it over 50 hours.  So people are buying it a lot, playing it a lot, and absolutely loving it.  Always good to see.
