Wow, I can't stand pushy friends that push you to get something just because you want them to have it, so selfish and pointless, woop it's going to increase PS3 sales by 1 unit, what's the point?

Your argument is hugely biased btw. You have a great point with bluray and free online multiplayer, the rest is either not true anymore or your own bias.

After reading your following posts, you're being the pushy one.  Stop trolling.

lmao,he does that some times

....some times is being a bit generous.

yeah just get what he likes and he will be fine otherwise his generosity will go

Also staff members are allowed to converse and debate with members here, as long as they don't break any rules, which I havn't, so give this "blah blah staff member" thing a rest.

Ah, the dreaded staff members can't argue argument, I use to get hit with that one all the time.  The true sign of someone who realizes they're wrong but won't actually admit it.  That's almost as good as the I'd like to see you do better argument.

Just reading through this thread, it's silly.  The thread title alone invites all sorts of flame bait, the OP only encourages more, and it's just painfully obvious how stupid of a thread this is.

It's cool to discuss the differences of the consoles and see which is better suited for someone (I did something like that a few months back and even decided the PS3 was better for that person even though I like the 360 better), but this thread was made only to twist facts in order to make the PS3 look better for everybody.  It's stupid and only makes the forums look bad.

srry but i find everything the OP said was true.

Every single thing on your list is true for the Xbox 360 EXCEPT for free online and Blu-Ray, and fails to highlight the massive multimedia capabilities of the Xbox 360 above and beyond the PS3 such as Hulu...

Aggregate gaming rankings in fact hold the Xbox 360 to possess MORE great games than the PS3.

Why lie to your friend?  Let him get what he wants.

Ok starcraft...you have a 360 and $300. What should you do? Buy another 360? Or buy a PS3 and get a different experience? If you get a PS3, you get to experience both. You get another 360, and you may have 2 consoles, but you only get one experience. What makes more sense TO YOU?

The new Xbox 360 will likely be extremely reliable, it has all the advantages of the PS3 plus the advantages of the Xbox 360 line excepting Blu-Ray.  These advantages are enhanced by built in Wi-Fi and a large HDD.

As Twesterm pointed out, what I want it irrelevant.  The bloke wants it, he should be able to get it without being harassed.  Informing somone is one thing, "converting" them and actually formulating an argument to make them switch is another entirely.

Extremely more reliable? What about the 3 year warranty (don't you dare say anything like 'its not convenient' 'its not needed anymore')? WiFi? The newest wifi adapter (wireless N, I think) goes for about $60 on eBay. 120GB is $40 and the 250GB is $60 on eBay. So this person can get the same effect (even though it doesn't matter at the end of the day because HE DOESN'T PLAY HIS ONE 360 SO BY WHAT LOGICAL REASON SHOULD HE BUY ANOTHER ONE?) with his current 360 for $100-$120. A lot less than $300.

And again, the worst part is, he wants a PS3, has already bought games for the PS3, and the only thing halting him is a redesign that with all its upgrades...can be attained for $120 instead of $300. Here's the situation as I see it. Friend wants a PS3. Jneul informs him about the PS3. Friend wants to spend $300 on what he can get for $120. Jneul along with the rest of us are saying he's being illogical and the smart thing to do is to go with his original plan.

I get the feeling that you guys aren't taking this as a "friend helping a friend" situation (which it is). You see it as "fanboys trying to get one more PS3 sold". I bet if it was the other way around and the friend already had a PS3 and was planning on getting a 360....but changed his mind because of a redesign...you'd all start spouting "GEARS!" "HALO!" "ENTRY PRICE IS $150!" "XBL IS THE BEST!" and say it's the smart thing to do and that owning 2 PS3s was silly (especially if the person didn't play it) <---which that is

Meh, I don't really play Halo, was never a massive fan.  Ultimately, a thread title that includes words like "converting" and "warning for PS3 fans only" is not condusive to the notion that this is a friend helping a friend situation as you put it.

Furthermore, there is two, mutual exclusive things that can be drawn from the OP:

Either:

a) The friend is an idiot

or

b) The thread creator is misinformed or a "fanboy trying to sell another PS3."  There are perfectly legitimate reasons to want a second Xbox 360, most of which are stated in this thread.  If the friend wants one, it is logical to assume that he would be made happy by the purchase of one.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

If the guy doesn't play his existing 360 then maybe he's just not into console games at the moment.  I know this happens to me a lot and I have both a 360 and PS3.

I give this thread a 9.4.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

My question would be why does he want an xbox360 slim when he already has an xbox 360? Buying  a PS3 seems a more logical choice to me because it will add to the number of games he can play (all ps3 exclusives buying another xbox is just a waste of money IMHO.

You should ask that question to all the existing 360 owners who are willing to buy the Slim version or already did despite having a working "fat" one.

I agree buying another 360 is a waste of money. I found myself almost making an impulse buy when the new 360 slim came out, but once I heard that there is no backward compatibility on the 360 slim, I have changed my mind for good.

The Sony exclusives is a hard argument considering most of the blockbuster titles are multi-platform. Unless his friend is a diehard Metal Gear fan, God of War fan, MAG fan, Uncharted fan, a fan of blu ray, or a combo of the previously mentioned, then the money is better spent elsewhere like a shiny new Wii where you can invite girlfriends over and drink beer and stare at their asses while they are playing Wii Sports in underwear.

How can someone be a fan of Uncharted, MAG or Blu-Rays, if one never experienced any of it?

Before I got my PS3 (I was a 360 owner only at the time), I wasn't a fan of Uncharted.  I knew of the game from the media, but no more than that.  When I finally got my PS3, mostly for MGS4 at first, I tried the Uncharted demo and got instantly hooked.  Now it's one of my favorite series.

A similar story happened with God of War.  I never got into those games during the PS2 era.  Mostly because I was the owner of all of that generation's consoles and couldn't possibly play everything the 3 of them had to offer.  After reading and hearing so much about God of War 3, I finally decided to get the Remastered Colletion along with God of War 3 and I started a marathon. I'm glad I did, as those games gave me some of the most epic gameplay moments I've ever experienced.  I remember pressing the start button after the first 20 or so minutes of God of War 3 to take my breath, saying something akin to "Holy fucking Crap!!" out loud because I was just blown away by what had just happened.  Few games ever did that for me.

It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't bought a PS3 in the first place. ¬_¬

How many people who posted in this thread bought a PS3 slim even though they had a PS3?

Tease.

Let's nuance that a little:

How many people who posted in this thread bought a PS3 slim even though they had a working PS3, wanted an Xbox360, and indeed already "preowned" a couple of Xbox360 games, before they knew about the PS3 slim, but then bought a PS3 slim instead?

How many in the whole PS3 Squad thread I wander?
