Forums - Sony Discussion - ISR E3 Gran Turismo 5 Special Report

Good/constructive feedback from ISR, who haven't aren't the biggest GT supporters it's fair to say. 'Best Graphics' to 'Best Virtual Car museum' to 'Most realistic' environments were thrown about, but they also talked about how mabye it had too much diversity. And lol the detail in those premium cars is scary.

forza only 8 in mp ?  lol didnt know

I'm watching it right now.

While their highlights are good, the part where they said that the physics are pretty much similar to GT5:P made me go LOL.

Pretty much every preview and info roundup have stated that the game has a good improvement over the physics of GT5:P. Heck, even the official GT sites lists this. Plus, you could already see a much improved physics engine on Gran Turismo Academy.

Great to hear that the force feedback is almost 1:1 to what you actually feel on the track. It's going to be amazing to race around Le Mans with the G27.

It's nice to see that PD is striving to get a balance between reality, playability and manufacturer limitations.

Also, at 20:10, I laughed at how one of the ISR guys tuned the TCS only down to 1-2. Couldn't handle complete turned off TCS? That's how he wanted to feel the full force of the physics?

Also, Photo mode being a new mode? Where did these guys come from? They refer to GT4's triple screen mode but forgot the Photo mode?. In Japan you could even send the pictures using the PS2 modem.

16 cars online sounds pretty great, especially on Le Mans and Nurburgring too. 24H endurance races are going to be a heck more exciting.

It seems that 3D really adds a whole new depth of field spectrum. For Racing sims, this can be extremely important.

Day to night transitions = Amazing was pretty much one of the things I wanted to hear. Nurburgring is going to be amazing with it.

Gamescon August is going to be spectacular, full blown GT5 media

They didn't do a comparison. In the end of the video they said they'll do a comparison between both after GT5 releases in the end of the year. But from what they seen so far in their very limited demo, it was pretty much on par.

GT Academy received a lot of negative feedback about the physics, i think most people actually didn't like it (i loved it) so perhaps they have modded the physics closer to GT5P.  I guess we will no when it drops.

this guys are a huge fan of forza lol... but yeah they are real SIM RACING JUNKIES so they care more about the physics , customization and all that serious stuff. that guy that got interviewed just could say anything LOL! and that guy on the left was kinda hesitant to say that GT5 actually was better than forza in some areas xD

All the negative feedback I saw was that it was too hard to drive. I hope they didn't drop it down and I seriously doubt ISR on this aspect. Pretty much other preview, from gamespot, kotaku, ign, gametrailers and so on has stated that there's an improvement in the physics department over GT5:P.

Also, as I stated, they didn't fully test the physics to their maximum extent (not in that video at least). They drove with some driving aids (TCS at least at 1-2).

Awesome for GT fans. I'm glad you Sony guys finally get a sim racer for PS3.

By the way, I'm envious of those graphics. They are the best racing graphics ever seen.

Looks awesome.
