Just consider the size of Japan, then the size of the West (by West I assume you mean, NA, Europe, Australia and NZ).

I'm considering... but production prices are the same - or at least are somewhat similar - everywhere.

it's not like those games will get more sales when (and if) they're released in the west.

I mean, xenoblade will sell 120k in japan... if it comes to the west some 30 k more or something... and people is calling those sales good when games like prince of persia are hyperflops.


Uh...yeah...there's no way Xenoblade would only sell 30k if it comes to the West. That's only for the smallest of the small.


How much do you expect?

Even if it goes to 200k (or 250, even 300k) it's still a flop number for west games.

I bet Xenodrop's around 30k.  The game's supposedly selling out in department/toy stores, but plentiful in game shops, with almost no used copies in circulation... which is actually a bit bizarre for a core oriented JRPG, you'd expect the opposite in all those cases.  Can the casuals save Xeno?

I expect Xenoblade to be at (or even below) the 20k mark, since last week no. 5 (Xenoblade's position this week) was DQM at 20k, and this week DQM is no. 6.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the only good news. I was way off regarding Ghost Trick.

4th week

[WII] Super Mario Galaxy  (Nintendo) - 37.484 / 415.491 (Famitsu) It charted 11th on Media Create so no numbers.
