Hey I gave my friend my old 360 Elite when I decided to buy a Slim. With my Elite went my HDMI cord that I had gotten bundled with the console. However today when I openned up my slim I noticed I only have one AV (Video) plug in on my TV while I have two component (HDMI) ports. I realized I have to unplug my Wii every time I want to play my new X-Box.

So I decided to ask my friend who lives like an hour away to bring the HDMI cord and I'll give him my video cord. But before asking him to come all the way back to my city I thought I'd ask here.

Can I use the Elite's HDMI cord on the back of my new Slim? Or are the old cords only compatable with the old X-Box's?

the cord will work just fine...just hope your friend is willing to return it.

Just go to your local electronics store and buy a $5 HDMI cord and save your friend an hours drive.

Also, you don't have two HDMI ports-- you have an HDMI port and a Kinect port.

He means 2 on his TV. Kinect doesn't use a HDMI port?

USB, but there is a special powered one on the Slim meaning you don't have to plug your kinect into the wall as well

Different models of 360's use different power supplies.  You seriously risk overheating your 360 if you use the wrong power supply so if you ever need to get another power, make sure you absolutely have the correct one (it's not hard to tell, I just forget how).

Also, didn't realize he was talking about his TV.  :-p
