Here is the shock for you. The collectors Edition on 360 is £5 more expensive on the high street than Ps3 version.

and the 360 had an excklusive advertising campaign

 

if PS3 was exclusive it would have gotten way more attention than it did,like MGS4 big time

SONY would have marketed it big time and it is is one of the long lasting elite franchise

it would have easily done the 360 and PS3 numbers plus some more on PS3 alone


A nd who is to say MGS4 wouldn't of solf even more if it wasn't exclusive?, whos to say FF13 would of done the same numbers if it was exclusive?, what you think over 1 and a half million people that own a 360 would of just went out and got a PS3 just to play (IMO) a not so great FF title?.

and this whole topic is grasping at straws imo, so 1 or 2 online retailers lowering their prices of a game means now that its going to be phased out in the uk? hahaha. yeah cos shops like Game, Gamestop, HMV, Virgin, and a shit load of more don't exist.

many people owning 1.5 360's also had a PS3 but many didn't know it was coming because of the exlcusive advertising for 360 and many chose 360 as they like the console.if exlcusive the advertising would have made people more aware and people with 360 as favoured platform would not have had the choice.

if not those 1.5m people many other people would have hoped in.

First off, saying "excluding Japan" killed all credibility to your argument, because even with Japan, what would that have added? Less than 500K to the total sales?

Secondly, the CoD4 example? Straw grasping much? Reason it sold better on 360 is because when it released....there were more people with 360s. It wasn't as if the title wasn't as popular on the PS3. Look at the attach ratio. It's nearly the same. Here with FFXIII, it seemed to actually be less popular by comparison, so they slashed the price to clear inventory. You may want to stick with just GAME, but the article talk about UK retailers as a whole. GAME has them at the same price, but Amazon UK has the 360 version at 17.99 UK money

Online retailers are 'not' high street. 

HMV, Curry's, Sainsburies, Morrisons. Check them. They are the same price. Who's grasping at straws now?

Your on a Sales website and you say Japan accounts for 500k?

Try an extra 1.84 million. Japan accounts for 1.84 million of PS3 FF13 sales. 

In the West PS3 is only 700,000 ahead of 360. 2.2 vs 1.41.

So no. The article is complete tosh.

 

1.41 million sales in less than 3 months on the market is fantastic. And will hit 2 mill Lifetime. Great sales for FF13 on 360. PS3 version will likely do 2.6-2.8 million. In the West.

So all in all, there is no way in hell, retailers will stop stocking a game selling well.

Now I could understand if in less than 3 months it had only sold 400,000. But reality is it has sold very very well.

The article is flawed. I have shown massive evidence why. Both all retail high street prices and fantastic sales for less than 3 months even against the PS3 west version. Or are they gonna stop stocking PS3 FF13 to in the west?


1.41 million is great normally, but not great when 360 fans had all projected that it would outsell the PS3 version before the game out.  Now that it didn't, those same fans are trying to make themselves feel better by reasoning that 1.4m ain't bad.

Yes cos ya know anyone that knew about this game would of never knew it was on the PS3 by them ads.

It's not like countless Ps3 mags etc has not been raving about this game for ages,

It sold to that 1.5 million 360 owners cos they already had a 360, or else why would anyone that had both systems get the worst version out of the 2?.

Only reasing why i got the game on 360 was becos i didn't have a PS3 at the time.

But hey if you want to think that over 1.5mil PS360 owners would of picked the game up on 360 over PS3 thats up to you i guess, and if you want to also believe that over 1.5mil 360 owners would of picked up a PS3 just for this game if it was exclusive thats also up to you, even if it makes no sence at all.

many people buy the game because of hype,because of the COOLNESS like in MW's case,to showoff and play what everyone is playing.

not all 360 FF13 buyers would have bought the PS3 version but alot of them would have as many would already own 2 consoles but picked up as they like playing on 360.

also after the two months,the sales that come aren't from the hardcore fanbase but the casual people who have some spare money and they look at the game and think of buying it.if there was no 360 version.more PS3 versions would sell

and the hardcore FF13 fans who didn't buy a PS3 because it was expensive could have bought one.

 

and you are forgetting exlcusivity brings alot of hype,publicity and alot of people hop on the bandwagon because of it.

and SONY advertising alone on multi-plat would have pulled many buyers,leave alone what would have happened if it was exclusive.SONY would have advertised it BIG as it came after the PS3 SLIMMER and price-cut so everyone could buy it

Who cares for such a mediocre game? Take out the FF name it would end up as a huge bomb. I suffer through the first 15 hrs of 'straight line' adventuring to see what is awaiting at the Gran Pulse, and end up with stupid quests that has no personality, basically just kill the monster indicated by red dot and that 's it. 

Hope Ni No Ku Ni will flush out the bad taste in my mouth after this poor excuse of a 'blockbuster'.
