Forums - General Discussion - Been told by my doctor to give up gaming.............

For 6 weeks thanks  to some sort of nerve damage in my left hand from holding a controller too long. It's all thanks to a 2 week long session of monster hunter tri where I sunk in 100 hours and didn't pay any attention to the constant pins and needles while I was playing, using the cc pro of course.

Can't believe it, I still haven't finished alan wake and I just downloaded final fantasy 9 aswell. Lucky I can still play my dsi in small doses though otherwise I would go nuts :{

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Addiction....

That sucks, just stop for a short period of time, not forever, and once you feel ok again just start playin'

Wayne Rooney is the best!  Manchester United rules!

100 hours in a week?!?!?!? There only 168 hours in a week and you spent around 2/3rds of it gaming. You definitely need to stop for a while.

I admit I did get very addicted, I had two weeks off work, no money , the mrs was away and the weather was crap so I just played from dusk till dawn.

Eventually I realised how addicted i was half way through a quest online so i left the quest, ejected the disk and gave it to a friend to keep for a couple of months. Hand hurts like hell now :(

Enough left for the recommended 56 hours of sleep a week (8 hours a day) and 12 hours for eating and hygiene... and other things...

I have weeks where I work 72, play 48, and use the internet twelve hours, thats whats called addicted to gaming work and internet, sometimes I combine things while beeing at work on saturdays or sundays...

this is why I mix up between the types of games I play and platforms I frequent (thus allowing me to mix up controls used), that way you can game loads without risking strain injuries.

I always thought that I had a good head for games so it sort of came as a surprise when I saw that i'd logged them 100 hours, it's all my own fault for ignoring the physical signs although capcom is partly to blame for making monster hunter so damn addictive, jk :)

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

tell ur doctor he wont defeat you, jump on his head and grab the nearest controller
