149 is not much for 4 player gaming add on, stop pretending it is

Sorry to burst your bubble sir, but Kinect only supports 2-player gaming.

on the screen at once yes, but you have seen what kinect can do, can pretty much guarantee with the jumping in and out feature of players that it will still work in a sense in tandem.

But none the less its still not bad for 2, as has been mentioned move costs the same for one player, the 2 main move controls ~90-100 and the camera ~50

Move is also too expensive.  However, Kinect and Move aren't combatting each other so much as trying to take a chunk of the Wii's pie.

Given the Wii is $199 and comes with Wii Motion, Wii Sports, and Wii Sports Resort, it'll be a tough sell.

I'm still thinking Microsoft is setting up the internet for a pretty giant Rick Roll...

get your prices right

starter pack $99(1xmotion wand 1xeye 1xgame)

1xmotion wand $49.96

all for $150, so basically it's only $10 more but you get a game with it, i am wondering wheter kinect shall be bundled with a game??

hmm explains why they wouldn't give a price at @e3.

once people get kinect they will understand why a controller with buttons is needed, then just imagine how much more expensive it will get, try adding ps move control(they will create a similar controller mark my words) costs on top of that it's almost as bad as spending $600 on a new console, and we all know how much that got bashed upon....

They didn't all throw this price up in unison for the hell of it.

It wasn't in unison, it was one than the next, and so on. What is most likely happening is retailers are securing their preorders after they saw others retailers doing so. Basically they must charge some price to start getting prorders, and they know if they don't people will just preorder from amazon or someone who is set up for preorders. As always with these things I will wait until an official anouncement from the xbox div/team before I actually believe a price

Yeah, people should remember when retailers don't know the price for sure and they want to allow people to preorder, it's much better to set the price higher than it's expected to be.

Nobody is seriously expecting the Kinect to be above $150 and it still could be cheaper.

Think, if they set the preorder price at something like $100 and the price ends up being $150, how many preorders would be canceled?

What if they set the preorder price at $150 and then it turned out to be $100?  No canceled preorders.

See? Simple and everyone is happy.

Get it out there with a Xbox360 For $250-$299 and the Casuals Will eat it up.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

so $150 plus $ 60 for a game=$210 is starter price then .

Guess I will be getting kinect with my new xbox then!

I am really disappointed with the price, it is rather high.

  Kinect! who needs video games!
