Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sadly, I think the new Goldeneye remake is going to disappoint.

Does DKCR even support CC? I wasnt aware of any such announcment.

Call of Duty is a war game. It appeals to many people but mostly to war game lovers. Halo is overrated (imo) any has its own fanbase. 007 Goldeneye, well is going to have a tough time because it has to appeal to a new generation of gamers but I wish it luch. Activision knows what they're doing I believe. I mean, they've already promised us online and it has split screen multi right. So these are things we must keep in mind.

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

I am one of the legions of gamers who was once obsessed and totally captured by Goldeneye 64. It was not only a great game, but more importantly, the best shooter in the market at that time. The thing that made it so good was truly, there was nothing like it when it was made. It had the best controls and the best visuals...

But a new Goldeneye in this new generation, where games like Call of Duty and Halo already exist, placed in an inferior console incapable of rendering high definition graphics... doesn't sound too good. Goldeneye Wii will have to compete against a whole lot of established shooters without the technology to keep up, in a genre that has come to demand outstanding visuals.

Maybe they should've waited for another console generation... I am saddened that perhaps one of my most loved games of all time might be ignored because of a lack of power in the console it's in.

Very good point. Goldeneye was like the Halo of it gen, with FPS like slice bread now, it's will be looked at as needing to be MORE then just a "good" game, and the developers behind it, Eurocom, have a good track record, but not a GREAT one. Sales wise,I think it will sale on par to The Conduit, it is what it is. *shrugs*

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

it probably won't be as good as current gen shooters, but it should be enjoyable if not for the nostalgia alone.

The old golden eye was just amazing for its time. But in a generation that has been flooded with FPS games. I don't see this ending well for Golden Eye.

Except the Wii has had a dirth of quality FPS with local multiplayer (basically it's one, the other, or neither). So the bigger concern is that it has Conduit 2, and possibly Call of Duty (if the Wii version has LM) as other good Wii FPS with LM releasing at the same time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I agree this should have been on the PC because then it would not have to be held back by the primitive technology of the HD consoles.

Seriously though, if they make it good it will sell and it will be awesome, especially i it doesn't have to be used with that abysmal dual analog control scheme. That alone will make it better on the Wii than the HD consoles.

I've gotten used to dual analog, but Mouse or Wiimote pointing is still better and faster.

i came in here expecting something about nostalgia and high standards. your argument completely falls apart because the graphics seem to be the only problem you have with it.

This is the first shooter on the Wii that anybody gives a shit about.  I was nervous too, but then I played a ton of the multiplayer at E3.  I played as Jaws, and I won.  I am the bomb at this game!  My 1997 skills translated over perfectly.  The controls feel great.  The game is a love letter to 1997, but with some new features and updates from today's games.  You have a separate trigger for grenades, multiple objectives, and new maps, but it's the same game.  It has the same badass oldschool controls, and honestly, I don't know what else you'd want from the game.

What's everybody so worried about?  Fucking 1337 grafyx?  Weak.  You point your gun at your friends and you shoot them.  It's been the same formula since last millennium.  You guys can play Crysis 2 and argue about grafyx while I rock me some multiplayer party FPS action on GoldenEye, and my comedy/horror/co-op/puzzle/perfection on Portal 2.  Those 2 games will cover all my FPS bases for a long time.
