  • Jorhan Stahl is a badass.  Truly the star of the game.

Couldn't agree more, and Malcom McDowell was superb with the voice acting.

I wish I could get a photo of Stahl grinning.  Like a huge, legit, happy grin.  Not his typical manical smile, but one of pure joy.  Then use that as my avatar.

It'd be hilarious.

Just got home with my copy.  I'll be giving it a go later on tonight.  My only experience with the Killzone series is from the demo of Killzone 2 and toying around with that "Behind the Bullet" thing on the PSN.  I'm hoping for a really good time!!

Got my copy too, but I also bought Dead Space 2 which takes priority. Plus I want to play Killzone 3 online and until I get internet in a week or two I do not have as much reason to play. I also want to play the campaign coop with my step bro who lives in another city so I will put it off until I can visit him and enjoy the shooter the way I think is the most fun.

Coop ftw, baby!!!

Two more things that were in Killzone 2 that aren't in Killzone 3:

1. In-depth stats system.  Killzone 2 provided a plethora of stats regarding both how you played the campaign and how you performed in multiplayer.  From accuracy and kills per weapon, to the number of helmets shot off in the campaign, etc., and for multiplayer, they even provided worldwide rankings for each specific stat.  A wealth of information was at your fingertips.

Killzone 3 removed all of that.  You have no stats for the campaign, and what few stats you have for multiplayer can ONLY be accessed via Killzone.com.

2. Destructibility.  In Killzone 2 you could shoot the cement tiles off the sides of columns, knock over thin metal walls (like the ones in the middle of Blood Gracht), and other objects.  I thought they'd increase the amount of destructibility in Killzone 2, but they've only lessened it.  They actually have walls identical to the ones in Blood Gracht in Killzone 3, but they can't be destroyed!  What the hell!

Ugh. What happened to the teamwork that was happening during the demo? I'm staying off of Operations for a few weeks until only experienced players remain.

I haven't touched Warzone, because again, you need a good team to not rage quit.

Then Guerilla Warfare ends too quickly. Also, dissapointed at the lack of tactical spawnpoints to capture. The rotating spawn points are a mixed blessing. On one hand, it's a good way to prevent spawn camping and repetitive games (people always coming from the same side, and then everything becoming a stalemate as people camp the center).

However, it really removes any sense of a teamwide strategy since, positions constantly shit and don't matter. I really like the idea of trying to out maneuver the other team and capturing a spawn point to pincer the enemy. I think that adding the capturable spawnpoints, while still implementing the random spawn points would be good enough though. You can utilize the capturable spawns to your advantage, and if spawn camping occurs (granted that the enemy doesn't even capture the spawn point), then you can spawn on the default area to safety.

looks like it did much better in sales than it was indicated at first

I regret buying this game for 60 dollars. Awful, AWFUL map design. Putting spawn points right in the center, with no cover. Basically everyone camping in bottleneck areas. Killzone 2 had a lot of hallways too, but at least it had a lot of entry points and paths to take so that camping wasn't viable.

Also, the low HP/high damage just makes the camping even more frustrating.

If you want a team based shooter, get socom are something. I always go at it alone,so none of that stuff bother's me.

An online FPS shouldn't be catering to players like you. Players like you should be playing single player, not multiplayer.
