I'd like to see how you can make a RPG with this.

I asked Alex about that, it's in my preview for LBP2.  But anyway he told me that noone at MM had made such a level yet, but he theorized that you could be direct controlling the character and make an experience bar using holographic material.  Once the experience bar was filled you could change the properties of the direct controlled vehicle/character.

I'd like to see it once someone makes such a game.

Good thing LBP2 has the gameplay to back it up then. Its gameplay is in no way an aftethought, I had tremendous fun with the first game despite never creating a level.

Even if they fixed the broken gameplay of the first one this one still has to go against Galaxy 2, and I highly doubt that it will be that good.

It had some issues, but it certainly wasn't broken.  Yes it probably won't beat Galaxy 2 for GotY but since I don't think you've played either I really don't see what you are basing the comparison off of.

I've actually played both, LBP that is not LBP2 obviously, and LBP was a very meh platformer meanwhile Galaxy 2 had absolutely everything right. Also keep failing in your assumptions.

being "meh" platformer doesn't mean it's broken.  I assumed you hadn't played it because you made such an over the top statement, but I guess you have and you were just being over the top.

From the VGC preview, they said you could create an XP bar, have the sackboy control a sackbot, and when the XP bar filled, tweak the sackbot so it becomes stronger (or whatever you want to happen).

EDIT: Damn, beat to it.

Obviously you have no idea what LBP is about. It isn't just about creating. It isn't just about gameplay. It's about the sum of its parts which come together to create an experience that is not just creative but  inspires creativity by providing tools which fuel the community.

In response to the "broken gameplay" comment: Obviously you have some kind of vendetta against this game as you keep downplaying its features and outright insulting sackboy's jumping skills (not cool).

While Galaxy 2 is a creative and fun game it is not innovative, it takes no steps forward in its previously established gameplay methods, it does not foster creativity in its communtiy, it does not take advantage of any online functionality, and most importantly it is not nearly as accessible or as deep as LBP. These are the areas where LBP shines and to dismiss them would be a tradgedy.

I use too much hyperbole, sorry. I agree it is not broken in the sense that it was buggy, it was just a very "pretty cool," at best, and infuriating jumping, at worst, platformer. Fixing Sackboy's movements, especially jumping, would make LBP2 a really good platformer, but it will need a lot more than just that to beat Galaxy 2.

The jumping skills need to be insulted because they are utterly pathetic.

I have already addressed this creativity. Going by your logic Half-Life 1 is the greatest end all be all game because it allowed CS, TF, and dozens of other mods to come out because of it. The editor has no bearing on the gameplay itself. As I already said before, there have been many many editors with far more moddability than this and their games were never rated on them. They were awarded because of their gameplay, not their modding tools.

Which is where the community comes in. I don't know if LBP2 can beat Galaxy 2, but comparing them as platformers is very limiting to LBP2, especially with all the new community features it's bringing.

Comparing LBP franchise to the King of Platform games (king of video games as well) Mario is insulting. LBP2 has little to no chance of beating Super Mario Galaxy 2. SMG2 is the second highest rated video game ever tied with other few games according to metascore.
