First of all. Are insults allowed on these forums ? Sure it's indirect but regardless. You should be above that if you are a mod.

Second of all, i'm naturally talking about nintendos first-party games. They might have innovative hardware but their games are mostly. In my opinion anyways, the same as they were 10 years ago.

Ofcourse this is in relation to beloved nintendo franchises such as mario and not the line of "wii whatever" since people don't feel nostagia while playing those.

What you have to concider is that it is a possibility that the high ratings come from people getting nostalgia trips from playing the games. You can ask youself if it's fair to base a score on that, but one thing is certain in my mind. Some nintendo games. Get free rides.

As for nintendo being game critic proof, look at this for an example: Mario galaxy and the R&C future series. Two games out this generation for each one, and each one as similar to the previous games in the series. R&C gets accused of getting stale, and thats fair. Mario galaxy 2 gets labeled innovative and light years ahead of the first game. And its no different from Galaxy 1 then Crack in time is different from tools of destruction. 

Well, if certain Nintendo games get a free ride then are you going to ignore the various 360/PS3 titles that get free rides too? (i.e. GTA4)

To your second point, what did you mean right there? That Nintendo's "core" games are the same as they were ten years ago? Clearly you haven't played the same games we have been because, quite frankly... You're wrong. The games are similar but not, I repeat NOT the same.

To your first point, that wasn't an insult. It was a way of articulating his point. Telling someone they've "got to be off their rocker" does not mean it's insulting him.

I don't want to drag this out. Which is why I rarely post in the first place ... But yeah. GTA 4 also got a free ride. It was good.. but it was not that good.

All that prooves is that it can happen to other games than nintendo games. It does not excuse or exclude nintendo games from it.

Perhaps not. But my copy of super mario galaxy is pretty stale. Doesn't feel like it's worthy of it's metascore. We could do this all day. But I doubt we are going to come to a sensible conclusion that we can both agree on.

Naturally they are not the same games, but they aren't the massive improvement they are claimed to be either. In my opinion.

This gen Nintendo and Sony are delivering alot more than the gen b4 and unlike you, Im not big fan of all the new ps3 title sony brought up so thats why Im exited that they are comin out with a new twisted metal.

Excuse me, I'm not totally against you're thread but this example doesn't work SMG2 is the 2nd game in a row to offer similar features, the last R&C is like the 6th or 7th....

oh no no no no no. New Super Mario Bros Wii disproves that in one shot. Or how about all the "Mario Galaxy expansion pack?" that's been floating around (though the game is sitting at the top of the all-time critical charts, so that criticism didn't really stick even amongst the critics)

Brawl was annihilated, and rightly so, for its poorly implemented online. Punch-Out!! was chewed out for multiple problems. Wind Waker and Sunshine were too kiddy, Twilight Princess was too dark (and derivative). And that's just from taking a short look at the games visible on my shelf.

b - It was reduced on September. And I... well actually my brother and I, bought one for 250€ and only had Wii Sports.

c - Hm... what's valid to me might not be to you. I personally think the new Zelda game looks... weird, it's not TOO cartoonish, but it sort of reminds me of Rayman 2 with better graphics. Not really into the art style. But then again, that's my opinion and I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I guess the feeling I've got is more general: people are cheering everything the Nintendo's doing, and few people actually criticize 'em. The SMG example is pretty good. SMG2 might be a great game, but the way people talk about it...

About that video, LOL! That's why I said GAMERScritic-proof, looks like most of the industry is either biased or doesn't like Nintendo. But still, I can see that 360 fanboy point, even if he's one of the most biased reviewers I've ever seen, the games shown on his conference... I mean the MS conference, are more interesting to him than the ones shown on the Nintendo conference. Of course that Gears of War 3 and CoD weren't announced on the MS conference, so he fails when he sayd that MS had the best conference.
